Have to say I’m still irritated with WordPress, everything seems so slow. Pages take ages to load, but I’m going through the same process over and over again to find a path through the new editor. I keep taking wrong turns, looking for tags that don’t seem to exist once I’ve posted them. How are you all doing? Am I getting on your nerves?

No Urban sketchers challenge today so I drew a friend (we met in a cafe to discuss art today), it’s not a brilliant because I got the eyes and nose too big. You can see the grain of the paper, it’s a handmade sketch book and the paper is thicker than I normally draw on. It’s grey because the day was very overcast. This was taken with a light on, but it didn’t illuminate the photo very well. It was good to draw a person again
I’m so tired. I’ve been working on this all day. I spent ages referencing all my quotes, adding citations, trying to make it flow. I have to get it in by tomorrow so I’m going to do some more later on. But now, well my hands are aching from typing. Correcting mistakes. Trying to get the writing formatted so it fits into the boxes. I’ve still got to add some questions and answers. Help!
So tired I’m writing my Manifesto for my future as an artist and an illustrator. This was a rough draft. I’ve changed a lot of it, but it struck me as being appropriate for the problems with WordPress. I must be forgiving (not sure why though). Is it because I come from a polite society where being effacing is the acceptable norm. I don’t think the British are as polite as some other societies though. You can get a lot of passive aggressive behaviour, backhanded complements, oh I could go on… But will it get lost when I post? And where do I add categories and tags?
I am sad to hear the leopard Hotel in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent has closed its doors and is being auctioned off.
It appeared on shows like Britain’s most Haunted TV show. It was very spooky. I was pleased to paint murals there over ten years ago and we were part of a zombie film that was partly filmed in there… Sad day
Begonias in the hanging basket, succulent on the windowledge. Makes an interesting abstract when you mirror them like a reflection in water.
I sent a very annoyed message to WordPress but I didn’t have time to ‘chat’ about it. I guess as usual I will have to teach myself. Apparently there are videos to show you how to use blocks. But I don’t have time! I’m old! I’m not an expert! Still upset.
I’m trying to use the block editor, I’m not happy. It’s like using word all your life and you are suddenly given a mac computer. Not sure what I’m doing or how to add content, tabs, categories, sharing. Very annoyed. WordPress 0/10!
A plant on the kitchen windowledge is duplicated in the Layout app. The result seems to be a strange weird alien face, but it’s just a Christmas canvas plant with spiky leaves. This is what I do when I can’t see and go down for a coffee in the early morning!
Here’s another one. They really do create impossibly strange weird structures.
Anyway, only got four hours sleep. Might treat myself to a nap!

Our boy cat having a stretch in the bathroom. He had been ill but he’s a lot better now. For the moment he sleeps in the bathroom on a towel because it’s a lot cooler in there. Not as much sun getting in. But sometimes I will find him in a patch of sunlight, curled up and warming himself. Cats have characters. He’s chilled. Our female cat is lively and loves chasing things. Sometimes they chase each other. A mad half hour. Then peace descends again.

The sun is starting to wake up after Solar Minimum. Apparently there was a coronal mass ejection from the sun yesterday. This means that a twisted magnetic line of energy had broken and exploded with plasma coming out of the Sun. The energy can fly out in any direction but sometimes the CME heads towards Earth, then the magnetic feild around the Earth shields us. Except at the poles. Its like when you put iron filings on a bar magnet. You can see the magnetic field lines and the way the iron filings follow them. The magnetic lines dip down towards the magnetic poles. This is what happens at the North and South poles of Earth. The energy from the sun is channelled towards the poles and excites the gasses in the atmosphere. I think Nitrogen glows green and Oxygen pink? I’m not sure.
Anyway there has been a CME from the Sun and the chance is there might be some Auroral displays in the next few days.
