A week ago the #bandofsketchers prompt was Peel. Digital drawing of a banana being peeled. I can’t get out to get a new sketchbook so I’m drawing on my mobile with my fingers. Its a bit fuzzy.

New paintings and regular art updates.

Flora, florizal
Florets, flowers
Petals pampered
Scent and perfume.
Distilled and wrapped
Into dense, sense, intense
Entangling
Surges
Of flowery glory.

I can’t stop playing with images. I have to keep taking things a bit further and then tweaking things, changing colours, adding pattern. Digital can look analogue. I might not have the right tools, or a real brush, but that doesn’t mean I will stop experimenting. The pattern and colours were meant to transform into a mythological creature, a green man.

Finger painting using tools in the Artrage app on my phone. When I published it on Instagram I chose the ‘Clarendon’ filter which gave it a stronger blue hue. Originally drawn with the glitter tool then built up with spray pens and using varieties of metallic and non metallic pens to add to the textured feel.

After posting the picture of a jug I decorated at the Emma Bridgwater pottery in Stoke on Trent, I just had this picture pop up on my Facebook memories.
This one was double the size, decorated a few weeks later at the Stafford Pottery in Burslem. I noted this was a third of the cost?
They were given as Christmas presents, I enjoyed the creative process and it was good to give something like this to family. I wish I had more time to decorate pottery, but at the moment everything is difficult.

Describe your life in an alternate universe.
Dr Who would be real (what a character!). Scientists would have solved global warming. People would be kinder to each other. There would be enough food to feed the population of the world.
No one would be called a bleeding heart Liberal, because everyone would be. Things would unfortunately happen as normal, like death and taxes, but maybe they would be organised a bit better rather than taking from the poor to give to the rich.
There would be a hypocrite law, basically if you acted like a hypocrite you could be fined for deliberately gaslighting people. I guess there would still be freedom of speech but hate speech would be banned. In my alternative universe we would be in touch with good aliens who wanted to help us survive.
Life would be benign but not boring. And all animals would not be hunted or pushed into extinction. I’m a bit too much of a pessimist though to believe all this could happen.
(I sound like a Miss World contestant from the 1970’s!)

This came up in my Facebook memories and I thought I would share it as an example of something I can do other than painting on canvas. I hope you like this tortoiseshell kitty. X

Don’t know why I did this? It’s a bit mad. Playing with Artrage app again. I’m a bit at a loss today. My legs are aching, my ankles are sore. I’m still sleeping on the armchair, can’t attempt steps yet. I’m on pain medication and tablets for an infection in my leg. I am just, blugh! Driving hubby round the bend, been driven mad in return. I know how to do things, but he’s trying to cook. Which has resulted in overcooked food and undercooked. So, looking at screens, looking at posts. I’d like to finish some paintings but I cannot push and pull the chair I rest my art stuff on. I will have to be patient!

Just did a quick digital sketch called ‘scent’, trying to use the text tool and symmetry tool on my sketchbook app. It’s a bit pale, maybe to subtle? Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was smell.

A difficult #bandofsketchers prompt, Spread. A digital finger painting of cheese spread being put on toast wirh a knife. Used a lot of different texture tools in my Artrage app to give it a bit of a 3d feeling.
