A bit of a dismal perch, above an old shop front. A derelict building with space for feral pigeons. I suppose it was just keeping away from the traffic and the car fumes, there has been a lot more road traffic over the last few days.
This was taken during my walk this afternoon. The sky was overcast and just about warm enough not to get chilled. Urban walking isn’t much fun but at least it is exercise.
On one side my cat in the mirror, on the other side the view of him across the bedroom. Surprisingly the first image was in the mirror. I think I had a bit of camera shake when I took the photo of him across the room. It’s also odd because there seems to be more depth of field (depth perception) in the first one. I might do more pictures of reflections and see how they turn out.

Huge flakes fell out of a grey sky

Layering up
Cold biting my bones
Blanketing the world with a white duvet
Smothering sounds
Birds hushed
Edges softened
Till drip, drip, drip
The thaw arrives.

Sprig moulded jug? Longport
Hmm, still thinking about painting this. I like the colours and the ellipses. It looks good against the dark green background. The pattern on the plate has colours matching in with the jug and the wall. If I paint it I think I will enlarge the jug slightly, it’s a little small for the composition.

Boy cat on the cat tree. He’s definitely got his ‘side’ the girl sits on the other side. Somehow my hubbies train set has migrated onto the top space. Not sure why? There is a lot of junk in that corner, but the cat tree is right next to a radiator and it’s also warm there in the afternoon sunshine. I wish I was a cat x
I can see all sorts of things in this, birds, and noses and smiles. Star jumps, an out of focus leaf… Twins with hair in ribbons, giggling at me. Sunglasses. The human mind is strange. Picks up patterns and interprets them into odd things. Life huh?

This was the view I was looking at when I did my Sketch earlier on. As you can see things were a lot darker in reality. I looked more at the shapes, concentrating on drawing them in first, then adding trees and branches afterwards. The silver grey seems to sit back in the background, the tones do not match this photo but does that matter? I keep drawing and hope I’m progressing. X
