After having my phone for a couple of years I’ve almost learnt how to add a layer. So I decided to add a Bernie to a photo… Welcome to Burslem Bernie!
He’s a bit ghostly as I had to draw free hand round him to select his image and my hand shakes to much to do a line drawn with a finger…
Playing with colour and pattern. I drew this in the Sketch app then used a rainbow flood fill option in the same app and then used photodirector. Finally I put them together in the Layout app.
I like the colours on the drawn lines when I flood filled them. They remind me of Mandalas.
What sees us under the deep blue sky? Alien faces with glimmering eyes. If they open wide a nova will scorch the ground. Smoke rising and polluting the air.

Sunlight and snow abound.
No, it’s a twig from a tree projecting from the side of a photo. When I duplicated it and mirrored it I got two birdlike objects, some stunted tree shapes, and the silhouette of the fence we were walking past. The sky had a wonderful glow, purples shading to red and then glowing golden orange. It was so clear, like crystal glass. So many ways to play with photos and come up with something new.
Yes I’m playing with images again. This result seems almost like a sepia victorian image. The image is mirrored four times. Streetlights glow orange in the semi darkness. Because the snow had only just fallen all the twigs and branches were covered in a frosting of snow. Like it has been sprinkled from a sugar sifter. Castor sugar, not icing. It also looks like brocade or lacework. The contrasting lights and darks give it an antique feel. It’s surprising what you can make of a tatty photo of a snowy garden.

Roses and ivy climb the walls
Snow dusted hedges
And bright shining rooves
I can almost hear
Reindeer hooves
Clambering over
Cold icy snow.
