Hunker down

sketch-1584608662732

Hunker down,

Hide and sleep

Find your dreams

And hug them deep.

Find a space

Where you can live

Where things are quiet

And silence keep.

Make a nest

Make a bed,

Stay inside

But in your head

Take a flight

Around your room,

Then through the open window

Zoom!

Above the world

The air is clear

The sky is bright

Bird song, you hear.

Look down on streets

So still so quiet,

With hunkered people

Bunkered, still.

But you are free

And safe to soar

Flying high

No fear

Just dreams.

What’s in a cage?

IMG_20200204_060502_536

What’s in a cage,

and what is a cage?

Are we trapped in a net,

or free?

Are we birds in cages

or enclosed by space?

How big is your cage?

Can you walk across a room?

Are their bars on your window?

Is there no way out.

No bus,

no car?

Are you stuck in your mind?

Many cages exist,

some are visible,

some are in your mind…

Orme Art exhibition..

I got my paintings up at the Brampton museum and art gallery now until the 10th November. I’m part of a group exhibition with fellow artists from the Orme Art group based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

I’m quite happy that they have hung my Mars painting upside down! After all in space there is no right way up! The art is along a corridor in the museum but they are well displayed and lit. If you are around you can always take a look. It’s at the Brampton museum and art gallery in Newcastle-under-Lyme .

Free seeds

_20190904_163250¬†packets of seeds….. Free!

What a lovely surprise, a gardening magazine we sometimes get had seven free packets of seeds with it today. Most of them are worth about £3 each so that means about £20 worth of free flowers.

The other good thing is they can be planted now in late summer or early autumn to establish plants for next years display. All I have to do is dig out a load of nettles so I can plant these out!

The garden is very overgrown so I’m getting someone in to help cut it back a bit. I love it but it’s hard work having big trees and shrubs. A warning, you need to keep on top of stuff to keep it looking good. Anyway I’m hoping by tomorrow I will be feeling a bit better and can do something.
