Independent business

Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was independent business. I had to think about it and since I’m trying to run an independent business I drew this. But with covid and the current cost of living crisis it is difficult to get anywhere. One thing I do is paint tiny canvases so that if people don’t have much space or can’t afford a big painting then they can chose a little picture.

Prompt was exercise

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was exercise. I haven’t been doing much exercise recently so I wasn’t sure what to do. I watched my cat chasing a ball and so I decided to draw her playing. I think it counts as exercise? Not a brilliant drawing but it’s hard to draw a cat moving so fast!

Paper

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was paper. I realised I’m surrounded by the stuff. Sketchbooks, newspapers, cards, envelopes, etters, books, novels, paperbacks, calendars, magazines, print outs. I’ve tried to represent them in a sketch. The image is imagined, but my house is a mess at the moment so it is littered with paper things.

Rain

Trying to draw rain on a dry day! This was for todays #bandofsketchers prompt ‘rain’, I drew Westport Lake and then added strokes of pen to indicate rain and dark clouds above. It was a black and white drawing but I decided to add watercolours to it when I got home. Beyond the front line of trees is the A500 and the main railway line. Above that the hill leading to Newcastle under Lyme.
