I found this face in these tree roots. Could be a little devil? You never really know what you are going to find until you play with an image. What fun…

We had to imagine some characters to add to an illustration so I drew these. I’m not sure whether they are OK. I did a large face so it comes forward in the image, a genie that eminates from the gas fire in the illustration and a fairy just taking in the view…

The resulting image is quite strange, with added fix, owl, horse, bug and cat. Then I added some flowers and plants..

Bad photos so I used filters on my phone then Instagram to bring out the colours, I need to find a way of taking pictures without shadows and glare on the page….

Turning a tree into a bug… Photograph of a tree last week, I decided to mirror it in four sections. I deliberately centered on the blue in the background which I also think gives a feeling of a stained glass window.

Tonight we had to sketch each other in hats. I decided to use post it notes as a background, with graphite stick and black ink calligraphy pen. My mistake was not to glue the squares down, so as these were five minute sketches I had to glue before I coukd draw! One if them I deliberately didn’t stick down so I could move the pieces around after I’d finished drawing….

Underneath our arch in the living room. Lots of mobiles hand off it, plus a disco ball and star that lights up. The Thursday #bandofsketchers prompt was underneath and this seemed appropriate. Lots of books to draw!

Today’s observational drawing, drawn on post it notes to see how the background affects the image. Not sure what the skull is of. Might be a rodent with the big front teeth. Found on a walk years ago… Momento Mori.
A ‘sort of’ view of my living room, with a tidy floor, no throws on the settee, the gas fire visible, the mantlepiece and chimney breast a bit too narrow. I’ve included some of the books and ornaments, but nowhere near all of them. I was trying to draw by the view from my eyes and it all went a bit fish eye lens. I’m writing this at 3.30am, with sore knees and feet, I walked another 4.4 miles today (yesterday?), anyway day 31 of my #100daywalkingchallenge… Almost a third of it done. I don’t think I will stop now unless I get too much pain. The other reason I can’t sleep? The outdoor cat is sleeping on my side of the bed, and unlike my hubby I try to keep my feet away from him, so I don’t accidentally kick him… He snores (well both of them do!) Night xx

Watching…… #skylandscapeartistoftheyearfinal so tried to draw the millennium dome. Only took 45 minutes from an online photo so I can watch the last quarter of an hour. X

I’m doing mark making in my illustration course so I decided to try and make a background (could be a foundation for a shibui image? ) tossed coins, poured and pulled pva and splashed and dragged paint. Will remove the coins then use the surface to work on. I have a feeling I might use it for a cave painting style image.
