Kingfisher

I went to the Orme Art group this morning and afternoon to paint. It was our Christmas meeting so we stopped early for lunch, but before that I started this painting of a Kingfisher, I have been using some iridescent paints to give some glimmer and shine to the bird and the background.

I came home early because I’m still tired from working on the mural yesterday. I want to add details to it to try and make it a bit more like a Kingfisher. I have tried, when I started someone thought it was a Woodpecker!

Funny little paintings

I’m sort of running out of ideas for the craft stall this weekend. So I’m painting variations on owls. A Christmas bauble with cat, and a frosty tree with faces in it. I’m not sure what my reasons behind them are? I am very tired so it might be phantoms from my dreams?!

Anyway, back to the mural in the morning, then more to do in the evening…. Yikes!

Memory of my favourite cat.

I painted this several years ago. She was my favorite cat. Always sitting behind the weeping fig at the top of the stairs. I painted her a couple of years before she passed away. I know it’s a long time ago because the fig grew to be about six foot high when we finally got rid of it. It’s one of very few paintings I had framed, because it was for myself. I generally don’t put them on as people can then choose what they want.

She was a lovely friendly cat, and very clever. Much loved.

Tiny canvas fun

I’m doing a few more tiny canvases for my stall, I’m miles behind with being ill. I’d bought twenty and so far I’m part way through three.

I’ve started another couple of pictures of Christmas baubles. But the third is going to be a Bee. I think we have to really think about stopping using insecticides or we will be in very great trouble.

Ive also outlined a dove of peace and an angel. Better have a rest then do some more.
