Etruria Industrial Museum today

View through silver Birches of three chimneys at Etruria Industrial Museum today. I think only the short stumpy one on the right is at the flint Mill, the thin metal one and the tall brick one seem to be to be on the side on another part of the industrial site. The buildings there look derelict with holes in one of the roofs. I hope the large chimney is stable. Sketch done on the balcony at the back of the museum.

Trying to draw an upside down face

Using the sketch app on my phone and a stylus I found, although the phone haptic seemed happier with my finger. Mostly drawn upside down but I had to turn it round when I realised the nose was too long and the mouth needed repositioning. I drew it as if the light was coming from the top. Today’s #bandofsketchers was looking down and this digital drawing is looking down (I almost drew my foot)…

Artrage doodle

Playing with Artrage oils app. It’s a finger painting. I must find my stylus as I think that might help. I like the combination of blue/ red/green and purple. You can set different brushes, dry and wet, different flows ans also make the ‘paint’ more or less metallic. The less metallic settings allows a lighter colour. Try it for free. Have fun x

Horizon

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Horizon. This was the horizon as I walked over the canal bridge at Etruria, Stoke on Trent, near the Industrial Museum.. Its mostly obscuring the houses behind. Felt pen drawing and fine ink liner pen. It was a lovely sunny day. Not drawn in situ but from a photo.

Spring

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Spring. I decided it was too cold to stand outside and draw daffodils so I decided to draw one from memory. Also couldn’t get my sketchbook page flat so it’s a bit curved… I have some with very strong orange trumpets and bright yellow petals so I think these colours are close.
