Unconscious

Warning, I’ve made myself look very strange.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was Unconscious. I have been unconscious a few times in my life and thankfully remember nothing about it. I decided to take a selfie with my eyes closed and hair dishevelled. The drawing is trying out the new style I’m playing with… Nose is too long because I had the sketchbook horizontal so it’s all elongated

Stones

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was Stones. I thought of drawing one of the members of the Rolling Stones but decided against it. Since I’m using a new sketchbook and I’ve been painting in acrylics this afternoon I decided to conjure up some stones from my imagination using the colours I’ve been using in the paintings.

Monochrome

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was monochrome. I did a monochrome drawing in black conte crayon of my husband having a nap. When I took a photo it looked brown under my kitchen lights but I used a black and white filter and autocolour to get it looking right. This is the first sketch in a new A5 size sketchbook.

Drawing of a replica.

Sketch of a replica of Chauvet cave painting in France.

Cave painting is amazing. The strength of the lines, the energy. The real feeling of life on the cave walls. A cave replica has been created in France of Chauvet cave. This is to protect the original which has been closed to the public. Human breath can create condensation and will allow mould to grow which damages the ancient pigments. This was Sundays prompt for #bandofsketchers. Just catching up.

Faces?

Yet again I can see faces in this pattern. Like little dogs faces. The pale green patches with black horizontal lines coulsvbe frogs eyes. I got the colours by playing with ‘curves’ on my photo editor on my phone. I like the way the complementary colours of red and green work together. I could see this as a print on a scarf or even a place mat for a coffee cup or a pattern on the actual cup.
