Sixty four pages (32 images, 32 text) later. More glue and parcel tape than I can cope with. The parcel tape is white and has fragile written on it in big red letters.
I started by taping 32 a6 cards together with parcel tape, then gluing down an image and plain paper alternating with each other. My measurements were a bit off so some prints overlapped each other. The result works but is messy. I wrote on the blank sheets vaguely telling a story but it needs doing properly.
A few shots of the snow outside in the garden. The snow is only a couple of centimetres deep but is continuing to fall. I don’t think this weather will last long, but it does seem strange that it’s falling in November. Most years we don’t get anything even at Christmas. It sometimes snows in the new year and can last a couple of weeks but generally it’s been mild for most winters. What does worry me is the cost of heating our house. Gas and electricity bills are skyrocketing. Ah well, that’s life.
I was just reading someone’s blog post. Then I thought I would add my comment here as it explains why I remove photos as well as tidying up posts that don’t always read well.
I edit spelling mistakes, my grammar isn’t always good. If I add anything to improve or clarify a post, I don’t know if anyone will re-read it. WordPress maintains the day the post was published on, so if I change things 48 hours later it won’t change that date. Sometimes I have accidentally saved a post as a draft then found it on my PC sitting there waiting to be published. When I do the blog post is sent back to the original day I wrote it. I’m not sure if you can change the date, unless you copy and paste everything and publish that (deleting the original one).
One thing I sometimes do is remove my old photos. They take up a lot of storage space. I wasn’t aware of that when I joined, so I always used to put in full screen images of photos or original art works. I’m generally around 97% full and sometimes am prevented from posting unless I delete a few photos. If you know any interesting quirks about editing let me know!
I didn’t venture out today because its really cold and I’m still a bit unwell. I was scrolling through my photos from the summer and came across this double hanging basket next to the house. It grew and grew and was magnificent in July and August. Now? The frost came last night, a glaze of white on the tiled roof opposite. I think all the baskets will wilt, the delicate annual plants are starting to wither, but the slightly woodier ones like fushias are still there.
Photos of the back to follow, and if I get out into the autumn landscape before all the leaves fall I will post some shots of the trees locally.
One of the problems with taking photos in artificial light with a smart phone is that you cannot always get a good exposure. My solution after trying to alter the contrast and exposures of these two photos was to use a black and white filter. Once I posted them on my Instagram account I used the filter on there which bought out more details in the photos.
Maybe I should have used a fill flash or changed the setting to manual but I don’t know if that would have helped.

Trouble is that’s almost full too. Can I get an SD card with more memory? Can I get the data transferred over? Why have I filled this phone up? I love it. Its got lots and lots (thousands) of photos on it. And I look at them, using them for inspiration for my art. If I transferred them to the cloud would they stay available? Some companies are now withdrawing the use of free cloud storage. The world must be filling up with data too… Bring back photo albums.. Dusty memories….
Photos from an old album. They were taken forty years ago. They won’t mean anything to anyone except me. They are old memories. Of winter when snow fell deep. When I lived in a flat. When the underfloor heating woukd blow out in a strong wind and me and my friends would be very cold till it was fixed.
It also has memories of when the skyline of the city was simpler, when some of the houses still stood. The colours are strange because I always used 400 iso film. That and the misty murk makes it look very gloomy despite the snow. So much has changed since then. No tape recorders or cassette tapes. No black and white TV’s. Even videos seem to have come and gone. Computers were only just being introduced. Yes my memory goes back a long way.
I just had to delete photos from my blog because I got to 99.7% full! I’ve got it down to 97.8%…what should I do?
Every time I post a photo now I make sure it’s on medium or thumbnail to save space.
I’ve tried to take photos off that were early on in my blog and that were not very good. But I don’t really like to do that. Anyway if you find a blog post missing a photo you know why. X
Take a photo of your face or someone else’s. Then cut down the middle and mirror both sides. If the person has a lopsided face the difference is obvious. Turning the images into two different faces. Apologies to my hubby for experimenting with his features!

I decided to reduce the size of my photos (optimise them). I have an anti virus software that does this for me. So I pressed the button and 1852 (or so) photos later the size reduced and I deleted the big files.
But now after clearing all the empty files I have found that they’re all saved under the same date! 18.10.18.
