I realised I haven’t doodled much lately. I guess I’ve been too busy and distracted. So today I drew this cat in the Artrage app on my phone. It’s meant to be a tabby cat with grey black and white fur. I didn’t use the metallic option at all so the paler colours show up better than they would if I had. It’s like everything else, you learn what works for you.

I don’t have my trusty sketch book today because I’m having a couple of photos taken of it so I decided to digitally finger paint Jupiter for todays prompt for #bandofsketchers. I used an app on my phone. It’s just called ‘Sketch’. Hope to get my book back by Thursday.

I love pattern so when I painted this I thought I was happy with it. THEN I decided to put it through a filter and add texture. Now I think I will paint over it and emphasise the curves and patterns. Making the most of the Holly and Ivy leaves and concentrating on the various greens. I could see it as a card or a notelet. I do love green men.

Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was diversion. This is a totally digital drawing using tools like flower and leaf stamps in the ‘Sketch’ app on my phone. It also has a pixel pen and a ruler that allows you to draw straight lines. I added some crackles and shadows to make it feel like something that has been there for ages. I call it ‘Round the houses’. Or ‘a long way round’!

I just found some stencils on a drawing app I have on my phone. I’ve added the plants as layers, the mountain layer and the sky layer I sent to the back. Finally I stretched a tree and just allowed a small section of branches to protrude into the top of the image. I could have used a flood fill on the plants..
