Digital abstract in ArtRage oils that I did five years ago. The centres is meant to be a metallic, shiny egg shaped object, and the outside the pattern that is seen on the object. It doesn’t quite work but I think you can see a contrast between the sharp lines of the centre, and the softer outer lines. I saw this today as a memory on my Facebook page.

Taking my mind off things. I drew a series of spirals then filled them in with different colours usin metallic and non metallic felt pens. Using the colours in sector’s around the spirals in contrasting colours. It took me an hour, and gave me some relief to how I’m feeling.

Found my stylus so tried using it on a dotted drawing I did a while ago in ArtRage oils. ArtRage has a metallic slider scale so you can make your drawing look metallic and as it says in the name also has pens that look like oil paint. ArtRage oils is a free app. I actually bought ArtRage which is the full app and it has lots more pens and tools, but I keep forgetting it because its on my tablet, and that’s in a cupboard. Oops! Must get it out and charge it!

Small painting from 2018 that was on display at Etruria Industrial Museum. I used an image off the Internet to work on. I think it was from a photo of a pumping station in Derbyshire? I loved trying to get the metallic reflections. I looked at the price and I wad only selling it for £25! The amount of work I put in means I constantly undersell myself, but people just don’t seem to have money for art these days. As to what it is I think it’s a regulator? Ith weights hold the arms down if it starts to spin too fast?

Reflected on a table top. Polished circles look like metallic scales. A layer of smeared washing liquid leaves a texture and using the layout app on my phone I mirrored and duplicated the images. I almost see metallic blue feathers?

Playing with Artrage oils app. It’s a finger painting. I must find my stylus as I think that might help. I like the combination of blue/ red/green and purple. You can set different brushes, dry and wet, different flows ans also make the ‘paint’ more or less metallic. The less metallic settings allows a lighter colour. Try it for free. Have fun x

Close up photo of a metal ring holder and a copper coloured stapler. It’s interesting what you can do with duplicated photos. I didn’t know it was going to look like this. It looks like architecture or a space ship with a distant galaxy reflected on the shining floor of the ship. I will play with some more images, juxtaposing different shapes, textures, and colours.

Artrage oils sketch. Using orange, yellow, green and purple to make it pop. Because the colours smudge when you overlap them, it’s hard not to mix them up. Eventually I ended up with this abstract pattern.
Finally I mirrored the image in layout app to create a symmetrical pattern. The colour pallette has a slider for metallic and non metallic versions.
I see lots of shapes in it that could be faces or a cat or other animals or even bodies? Pareidolia again (seeing faces in things)

I was playing about with lines then added the grey infill. What does this remind me of? Tyre tracks! So I can’t say much more than that. I may have some more I can do with this. Or not. It’s only a sketch but it was fun to do. Convoluted complications. X
