Tile rubbing

Not enough time to draw it, so I did a rubbing with a soft red pencil instead. You can see which areas are raised on it. A different version of mark making but it is interesting to vary how you produce images. This was at the Waiting Room gallery this morning. I think I might play with this image, duplicating it or adding more texture, even changing the hue of it.

Black and White

Image from an edition of The Yellow Book by Aubrey Beardsley. I’m drawing images with strong black and white areas for my report and portfolio. I admire Beardsleys skill with lines and curves. Everything is slightly exaggerated. The blocks of black and white are so strong. But there is a delicacy with the details. It’s so neat and precise. I can’t remember if this is art nouveau?

Simple things

My friend drew me and I love it! The necklace round my neck is supposed to be a diamond and she calls me ‘queen Victoria’ (which makes me feel very old!)

Such a sweet drawing, simply done. But it cheerdx my heart. Love the glasses and the bows in my hair. I look like a little girl again. Funny how people see you. Different to myself. I’d add more lines and lumps and bumps!

Seven years ago

Faces drawn in a nice app I used to use a few years ago. But I had to delete it because I don’t have enough memory on my phone. Maybe when I finally upgrade it I will reinstall it. I think it was called sketcher app. I think I still have it on another device but that’s not linked to the Internet very well so I have to mess about trying to link things. Maybe I should get more organised. I quite like this.

I’m still here

You may not see as many blogs, but I’m still here, lurking! I’ve got a college project that I need to finish and other work to get done. Other things are also going on so life is a little stressful at the moment. I just had to get work done on my car too. Its a good car, but spare parts are hard to come by now because it’s so old. They just don’t make some of the parts anymore. But I will watch your posts and see what is happening. I’m still here!
