my hubby finished this. I like the fact he’s done the cat in green. Also that he’s left some of this white. I’m to blame for the beading, it was too fiddly for him.
It’s definitely a riot if cheerful colours. I’m not sure where it’s going. It might go on his side of the bedroom..
He looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but two minutes ago he and his sister were chasing each other up and down the stairs, up on bookcases and rushing in and out of the kitchen and bathroom. 
Now his sister is playing with a cat toy and is ignoring him! Does anyone else have cats that have mad half hours? Pouncing and chasing. Basically getting up to mischief and having fun. I wish I’d got some photos!
It’s all berries, flowers, and spider webs.
The temperature is rising again and the fruit is ripening. The spiders in the garden are busy catching pests, and flowers continue to emerge.
Watering plants is important, especially in hanging baskets, I’m afraid mine have started to wilt.
My hubby has counted about fifty small pears on the pear tree, which is growing at an angle because it’s top heavy. We have used a piece of timber to prop it up. We also have quite a few green tomatoes, basically because they are in too much shade so are not ripening quickly.
Life continues, cats mooch round the garden trying to pounce on the odd wood pigeon. I keep our cats in but can’t shoo the neighbouring ones away easily.

The sun was shining through the clouds at Spode this afternoon giving everything a moody look.
Grey clouds, leaden
A glimmer of sun
Bright, yellow, hot
Sizzles through the clouds.
Humid heat festers
Industrial view languishes
Only a few plants
And a cat sleeping in the dust,
But alive,
Better than ruins.
This is one of my cats, she likes sitting on the back of the settee observing what’s going on. She uses this perch to see if her brother is walking by. Sometimes she pounces on him from there and then makes a quick getaway. She’s definitely ‘ queen of the castle’ despite being two thirds of his size.
I think I might do a tiny painting of her. The fuzzy effect is because I had to zoom in. If I’d gone closer she would have jumped off.
Anyway its almost two am. So I’d better get some sleep. Did I say I spent all day painting?

When cats get in the way
You just have to live with it
Or push her away?
Give her attention
Let her just play.
Jumping and leaping
Up on my lap,
Knocking my paints over,
Splashing the water,
Sharpening her claws
On my canvas.
She’s lovely
But mad.
She sat at the top of the stairs
Sitting proud on the ledge,
Peeking out
From behind the foliage,
Staring at me.
She was loving and gentle.
Liked the sun,
Bathed in light.
Gemma was my best friend.
This cat is definitely too friendly. He was trying to come in the back door tonight. We have put an old cat carrying basket out for him inside of a black plastic bag to keep off the rain. There is a towel inside the basket to give him something warm to lie on and it’s placed under the overhang of the summerhouse to keep off the rain. We will contact our local pdsa to see if they can offer advice. I still think he’s big and healthy enough to have a home. I will see what they say.

In all my years of cat ownership I’ve never been mugged so much by a cat. He’s not ours, he can’t come in as I have two rescue cats that are very happy. They won’t like having another one.
The cat who keeps visiting is getting fed every day. He comes to our back door and miaows. My hubby feeds him and so he’s getting big and fat!
Now I’m happy to look after him outside. But he’s too healthy and friendly to be feral. Perhaps he’s a stray, but if he is he must be being fed by other people to get so big! I’m thinking of putting a paper collar on him to try and see who his owners are? I could do with some advice please.
This was what I was painting at 2am this morning. Bit more to do. I just liked his cheeky look. The background is a bit weird but I might leave it.
Next is a painting of either Mars or Earth. I’ve already done a couple of Jupiter so it would be interesting to paint something different. I just need a decent photo to work from.
