Cat asleep

He’s on the edge of the settee and looks like he might slide off! Fast asleep, taking up all the space. I’d like to sit there but I’ve been ousted from the space by this cat! I went to make a coffee and he snuck up. I have a seat on an armchair. And as if on cue, my girl cat just came up and tried to sharpen her claws on my leg. She’s taken over my footstool. Cats rule in this house!

The right size box?

What is a cat in a box?

Cat in a box, I think they are like an upside down tortoise or turtle? Or maybe a hermit crab? Inhabiting just the right sized box…. Finding a box the right size they can pour themselves into. We have a small medium and large cat and each have tried this box. The big cat has to stick his head over the edge, the small one could fit in twice. The middle one is like Goldilocks, it’s just the right size for the box. Wiggle room to twist over for a belly rub. I sometimes tip a bit of catnip in…. Which is most appreciated…. OK… Life is good for our cats….

They slept

These two are getting much more tolerant of each other. They don’t follow each other around, I think the smaller of the two is a few years older, so he sleeps more. But they tend to eat together, and now they are sleeping in the same place. They looked so comfortable that I didn’t move them, I slept sitting upright on the settee until they both got off and went outside.

On my chest

Just woke up and found my cat lying on my chest! I am sleeping on the sofa as I can’t get upstairs with my injured leg.

He’s a friendly cat, but usually he is happy to lie down next to me on the chair arm. But tonight? I guess I’m the warm spot on a cold night. Seconds before I grabbed my phone to take this shot he had his head down, fast asleep and snoring.

Unfortunately for him I had to shift him as I was literally pinned down by his weight. He is now curled up snoozing at the other end of the settee and I’m sitting up with a cup of tea.

Cats protection

The cat has got really protective since I hurt myself. For the last two nights I’ve slept on my old armchair and our big tomcat keeps coming and sleeping next to me on the arms of the two chairs next to each other. It may be that my body is adding warmth to the room as its been cold for a few nights, so I’m a temporary heater? But I like to think it’s more like love or companionship. When he’s awake he puts his paws on my hand and gently kneads it. I feel like I’m being protected by him. It’s lovely.
