I hope these little pictures will be appreciated tomorrow at the Market48 craft fair at Spode. Can’t stay long. It’s getting late and I’ve got more to do.

Last night’s painting
A little green man, I think it works quite well. It’s a bit like an illustration and it needs some shading and shaping. Greens used phthalo green and sap green. Then paynes grey, cadmium yellow and white and a metallic mint green. Various tubes and containers of acrylic paints including cryla and Windsor and Newton.

Tiny canvas fun
I’m doing a few more tiny canvases for my stall, I’m miles behind with being ill. I’d bought twenty and so far I’m part way through three.
I’ve started another couple of pictures of Christmas baubles. But the third is going to be a Bee. I think we have to really think about stopping using insecticides or we will be in very great trouble.
Ive also outlined a dove of peace and an angel. Better have a rest then do some more.

Playing with textures
I found these two canvases tonight, they have modelling medium on them that I turned into rings or ripples on one and autumn leaves on the other. I’m still playing with colours and want to mute some of them and pick up the sculptural elements in them. They are a bit patchy but they are getting there.
B(u)y me for Christmas! Exhibition.
I’m really pleased to have some of my paintings up at the Brampton museum and art gallery from 16.11.19 to early January 2020. This is an opportunity for local artists to sell their work in the weeks coming up to Christmas. If you feel like having a look I’d recommend it, there’s lots to see and to buy.
It’s going to be a busy few weeks. Not helped by my having a fall at the weekend. I haven’t painted as much as I wanted and I’ve hardly been out of the house. But I mustn’t let it stop me trying to get things done over the next week or so.
I’m going to do some more green, or snowy men, try and get some cards printed and get some glass jewellery finished off..

Stall set up
I couldn’t fit all my pictures onto the stall today, but I got most of them on, plus some prints.
I got up at 7.40 but dispite trying to be there at 8.30 it was after 9 before I got there….ice to scrape off the car and then slow traffic. I’m lucky it didn’t snow, it was forecast!
The village hall is an old school and we were in the main room. Lots of crafts and charity stalls. I won a few things in the raffle and tombola. We finished about two and then it was time to pack up and try and fit all my paintings in my boxes, that’s an art in itself.

Craft fair news
Finished tree decorations…. I think they are OK. I’ve tried to make them festive. I’ve attached ribbons so they can hang off a tree. Well I will be trying to sell them at the craft fair I’m doing in the morning…. More to do.. I’m trying to do a painting of Frost. I’ve used lots of metallic paint, I think it’s in need of more detail though. 
Christmas tree paintings
I’m channelling Christmas and painting little canvases as tree decorations. They need more layers and the colours sorting out….. They will have green ribbons on them so they can hang off a Christmas tree. Backs to be painted black to blend into the shadows…
Jupiter 2009
Ten years ago, and before that, I was painting Jupiter. I love the planet, though its atmosphere is hellishly difficult to paint, swirls that meld into one another, colours that blend and merge.
I think I said it was like knitting the painting, because I built it up band by band.
Now I want to do more in the astronomical area. I’m thinking of painting on perspex if I can get the right effects. I woukd do something like the ‘pillars of creation’ dusty nebula. I am thinking of having different layers. How I would display it, and how accurate it would be? I don’t know-yet!
Green Woman
Well more autumn woman really. This popped up on my Facebook memories from three years ago. I’d forgotten about her. I did something similar last year, but I like this one more. I like the splurge of bright colours. I like her eyes. It went to a friend who appreciated it but to be honest there were a few people who enjoyed it.
As with all my art I like painting themes but I don’t stick to the same idea all the time. Currently my ainting include industrial archeology and history, portraits of people and animals. Space images, green men, women and animals. I do not like painting the same images constantly, my brain is fizzing too much to do that. X
