New paintings and regular art updates.

The #bandofsketchers prompt today was weather. I want it to rain. I painted silver clouds, then drew over it with felt pen to try and create a bright cloudy looking landscape with rainshowers.

I’ve decided to do a slightly abstract version of my photo of the steam punk morris man. If I can get it finished in time I will enter it for this years three counties open. I haven’t got anything else available so I’m taking a risk. Entry is due by 12th June, do wish me luck! Further images to follow.

Tuesdays#bandofsketchers prompt – sound. I went abstract with this, drawn in felt pens then adjusted digitally in photodirector. It represents the cacophony of sound someone with hearing difficulties suffers. Hearing aids boost hearing but also don’t differentiate sounds.

Collage of my dove of peace based painting. The dark line across the centre makes it look like the birds are reflected in water. I did this to show my support for Ukraine.
Hearing that the Russians have destroyed a dam in Ukraine makes me wish for peace even more. Villages are flooding and water levels are rising. The hydroelectric plant there has been affected anf the Nuclear power plant nearby is also at risk. This is awful. Inhumane, violent, innocent citizens will lose (have lost) their homes. It’s also an ecological disaster, destroying habitats that were homes to animals on the delta. How can Putin be so evil? Those responsible need to be bought to account. Give peace a chance.

A nice idea. A piece of thick paper with wild flower seeds pressed into it. My friend ladybird Su had a workshop stall today at Etruria festival today. I used a black ink stamp of a tree and then I coloured it in with felt pens. The wildflowers will be wending their way by post to my sister. I hope she likes it. The card and envelope are so small that the stamp is almost too big for it.

Hubby gazing across the canal at Etruria festival today. I should have used two pages to show what he was gazing at! But he moved too much so I just got a quick sketch in…Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was gaze.

Another couple of drawings/experiments, I do love learning and playing with art, but then I want to know how do I optimise my photos on my phone? My old antivirus used to do it, but now I’ve changed phones I can’t seem to work out what to do.
Should I use something in settings, or will there be an optimiser in my gallery. It’s worrying because my media here keeps telling me it’s full. When I upload optimised photos it’s not as bad. And along th e same lines, how do I sync my phone and my PC? It would help sort things out….

Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was glaze. I had some left over acrylic paint so I sketched out a pot . I painted in this random glaze idea. It’s meant to represent a raku firing.

Getting there. I can see my mistakes on this. I need to get the shape right. Maybe sort the tyres out, one side is wider than the other. I might calm the pale green down.
I have these rushes of painting. Something boils over and I have to paint. I have just started another one. Something a bit different, blue and black diagonals. That’s going to be an abstract. I’ve got to finish off tonight as I’m selling these on a little stall tomorrow! Eek!

I decided to paint a rusty old car for my final tiny painting. It’s meant to be a morris minor. It’s small matchbox sized and I hope to add some nice details. But after a lot of messing about for other people today I’m a bit tired so I might have a snooze first. This will hopefully count as fine art but it is a sketch or acrylic drawing at present. X
