Pagoda? pattern

I saw this window in the Japanese restaurant near us. I decided to collage it to see how it would look in a duplicate form. I tried rotating it but I think this is the best version of it. I like the flatness of it, the misty feel, as if you had come across this structure on a foggy night. Perhaps reflected in a still river. I love playing with images.

Lost reflection

Almost a year

She left us almost a year ago

Gone somewhere else, I don’t know.

A face I’ll never see again

Unless on a screen that isn’t used

And only occasionally appears

As a memory of a reflected moment…..

She thought that?

She agreed with that?

A smile twitches my lips

She agreed with me?

Then the memory fades

The face crumples

I cry again.

Reflection…

It looks like blossom, but it’s actually a puddle with trees reflecting in it then wind born bits of twig and flower petals floating on top. I thought it looked interesting and unless you look closely it’s really hard to tell what’s going on. Anyway this is from Rode Hall again. I also took lots of pictures of benches dotted around the grounds. I might post a few photos here. There is a Bench Appreciation group on Facebook that I shared them to. I wonder if there is an abstract nature page for this sort of photo?

Mirror.

Seen today, a mirror in a shop, reflected branches. And the bevelled edge was shining with the spectrum. I had walked to the shop and on the way it poured with rain. The sun broke through behind me and I took a photo of a rainbow. But the camera did not save the image because I turned my phone off too quickly. So when I saw a similar effect in the bevelled edges I tried to capture those colours. Lots of things inspire me x

Framed

I think it’s a good idea sometimes to take a different view for an image. In this case my friend sent me a photo from three years ago. I used a mirror on the wall to frame the people in the photo. He also sent me a couple of other photos I’d taken, and completely forgotten about. Those both have photos of windows where the view outside and the objects inside are framed by the window. By the way I think the mirror was framed with wooden sticks?

Cyclamen

Apparently reflected (using the layout, symmetry app on my phone). These Cyclamen are flowering really well. As they fade the stems curl over and the flower heads start growing seeds that are then deposited in the soil to grow into new plants. This is a large indoor version but we have small groups of cyclamen growing in the garden. The colours go well with the Christmas cactii next to them. OK I think that’s enough about my kitchen window ledge!
