Fireworks

No photos of last night’s fireworks! This was from two years ago, January 1st 2021. It was far too noisy last night. The cats were frantic as what seemed like hundreds of fireworks went off in about ten minutes around where we live. Bang, Boom, Crash, Flash. I had the curtains closed but could still see flashes of light through them. I just talked calmly to the cats and turned the sound up on the television to drown out the noise. After about twenty minutes it calmed down and the cats relaxed. The amount of money spent on fireworks last night must have been huge. I wish they would only sell quiet fireworks. I think you can get them.

Mince pie and tea

How kind! Hubby just brought me a cup of tea and a mince pie. I’m upstairs keeping warm because this bug has still got me. I need to get up and go and do some shopping, but I was just reading the end of a book and then suddenly there’s a plate with a pie and a brew of tea on it appearing through the door!

Anyway, I’d better drink the tea before it goes cold. Then get my act together. The shops might be closing early today. If I feel a bit better we might celebrate the new year tonight, I just hope there aren’t lots of fireworks!

Bed soon

suddenly at twelve the world went bang! Let’s just say it, people are glad that 2020 is over!

Bang! The neighbours set off fireworks, then the other neighbours set off theirs, soon the sky was full of bangs and crashes. Luckily our outdoor cat was in on the bed. It’s now just after 1 am and he’s gone out!

Goodnight and best wishes for the future.

Well it didn’t snow!

I was hoping for a new layer of snow instead we got mist. There is still a bit of lying snow but the roads and pavements are clearer. Might go for a walk later….

Apart from that WordPress has reverted to block editor again…. Clearly they don’t like us old fuddy duddies that prefer the classic version. Grr….

What to do for New Year’s Eve.

I guess we won’t be going anywhere this New Year’s eve. And yet that’s not a bad thing. Usually we visited friends to get away from the noise at the pub across the road. They were always rowdy and played very loud music that had such a loud base beat that it shook the house. Dum dum ddiiddi dummmm.. Each year seemed to get worse. I didn’t complain because that’s what people do.

So what shall we do, we might go for a walk in the afternoon if it’s not too icy. I think it would be nice to find our scrabble set, or a chessboard. I do sound like an old fuddyduddy, but I just want to be cautious. Virus news is that the infection is escalating. I’d rather stay in and be safe….
