By a cats paws
Feeling the kneeding of claws
Into my poor knees
Sharp and pin like
Making holes in my flesh!
But I love them so much
I forgive them totally.

She’s lovely, she’s sweet.
She sticks her claws in my knees
Says hello, it’s very cute
But those claws are a brute
Holey trousers, ripped shins,
Make me weep, ouch and eek!
I love her dearly, so much more
But I think my knees don’t need he paw!

How do I climb over this? Bad hip, aching knees, my legs don’t want to work like they used to! Luckily there was a gate next to it that opened! Apparently these are normal stiles for the area. Must be mighty walkers with seven league boots! If I had long legs and better balance? Then I wouldn’t be me!

Does she have to?
Looking up
Reaching out
Claws extended
A cat smile on her face
Eyes start to close
Claws in
Pull and stretch away from me
Claws graze my knee
through the cloth
Of my trousers
Tail waving in joy
Then off to seek food!

Your paws are white,
Your nose is black
You like cheeks rubbing
You arch your back
You purr
You poddle your paws
Kneading my knees
You twitch your whiskers
Wash your face
You are my good friend
I love you.

After almost a month I managed to get upstairs and go to bed last night. I knew it would be difficult sleeping after a month on my own. I didn’t realise how pointy elbows are, or how legs have sharp knees! So I wrote this little poem… !
Sleep, I need it
But elbows get in the way
Digging in my ribs
And back
Turning night into day.
What I mean is
I just have to say
That when you’ve
Spent a month alone
Sharing a bed again
Is full of elbows
And knees….
Sharp and pointy
Keeping me awake
Till dawn.
I
Before midnight!

It must be a blue moon, or an eclipse, but going to bed before midnight? Unheard of in this house! I think I’ve tired myself out. I have a book I want to read snuggled under my pillow. I’m not interested in the film my hubby is watching, something with Bruce Willis being brutal. I attended an on line singing festival for six hours today, then went shopping (walked there and back), then finally an evening walk. My arm, knees and feet hurt. Enough. Goodnight.

Cold, dark, windy
Not wet yet
Clouds cross the sky
Blot the stars
Sunset brings chill air
Creeping across the land,
Grass flattens against its cheek.
One step then another
Striding? More a cold shuffle
Tired feet and knees
But I keep going.
My walk is short for you.
But it’s enough for me….
