A pineapple
Spikey
Neither apple nor pine
Grows on a bush
Causes a hush
When you see it
Juicy and sweet
Packed with yellow pulp
Delicious with cream
Or in an upside down cake.
Pineapple sponge
And custard
Delicious.

I have had a thing from Microsoft saying I can sync my information ( My gallery on my PC, Tablet and phone are all different) or I could move stuff to the cloud? But I really don’t feel safe doing it. What if there was a solar flare that wiped everything? (It could happen) we think our digital information is safe, but who knows? The earths magnetic poles might flip, or I might drop the phone in the sea? so many worries. Last night I was wondering what would happen when I die? Will I be a digital ghost? A friend died last year and yet I had a reminder of her birthday last month. The grim reaper can be cheated digitally!
I’m in the middle of preparing for another 12 week semester on my college course. Life will be getting complicated again. I need to set up a website just for illustrations and artworks, probably a separate page here. Or perhaps on Redbubble or Square Space? any recommendations….

Claud Butler and Viking Queen bikes. Looking a bit the worse for wear, in need of TLC. I wish I could still cycle but I’m not very fit and my hips are too stiff to get onto my bike. My hubby still uses his. But I have memories of cycling thirty or forty miles at a time, cycling in the pouring rain, trying to catch trains and missing them so cycling home in the middle of the night. Mending punctures when it was so cold that the patch wouldn’t stick till it got warm when the sun came up. Visiting friends and relatives, visiting beautiful houses and castles. Cycling up massive hills. Lots of memories.

Last year my hubby and I were extras in a film called Humanus. Since its release we haven’t heard much about it but we knew it was going to be entered into a film festival.
Now I’ve just seen this on Facebook. It’s a shame about the font Flicks film festival uses! But the film won in five categories in the August monthly awards. Best Acting Ensemble, Comedy, Romance, Horror and Musical. Wow I’m amazed. Well done to everyone involved.

These are glass cabochons with wire weaving around them that I did last year. I think because I did these I could learn to do enamels. But you have to make a base then metal walls that contain the glass powder that turns into enamel when it melts. I think that sort is called cloisonné? I will find out more…

Speed, race
Fly with grace
Up and down
Spinning fast
Curving roads
Peddling hard
Up the mountains
Climbing passes
Into valleys
Over bridges.
Town and village
Country roads
Next to rivers
Oceans, forests
Always chasing
Passing, pacing
Tour de France
Yellow, you’re winning!

Why do cats like sitting and or lying on things? This is a blue carrier bag with a couple of fish on it saying save our seas, I think he just likes it because its soft. He also likes the washing basket, my rucksack, a cardboard box or two, the arm of the settee, and especially my hubby’s clothes when he’s got undressed ready for bed. The cat sleeps wherever he wants.

View of the fire escape stairs across the road. We live opposite a pottery and of course it looks industrial. The superstructure allows people to come and go at various floors. The doors are always open in hot weather and sometimes people stand on the platforms during hot weather. They have gardens and trees around the grounds. At least they are trying to green the area.

Digital drawing of a marble. Something from a few years ago. I drew it at a site called Sketchfu that has closed down. I keep finding old pictures from there so I hope you don’t mind me sharing.
I was trying to get the effect of a sphere and getting the reflections was quite difficult. I like the colours. I was trying to make it look like the swirls in an old fashioned glass marble ( sometimes called ‘murps’.) Big marbles were called ‘Allys’. Kids would make a bowl or indentation in the ground, and you fired a marble at a group of marbles in the bowl shape by flicking it with your thumb. You won the marbles that you managed to knock out of the bowl/ indentation in the ground… Mostly played by boys, I used to play on the carpet at home….

Orme Art group collaboration on a Henri Rousseau painting done for August. We have all taken one or two squares and created this amalgamation of styles. Mine are the one with the head and the body of the guitar. It’s good to see everyones techniques and takes on the subject. How some bits don’t line up, but overall it has a wow factor. Hope you enjoy.
