New paintings and regular art updates.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was hot…I’ve tried to draw a hot landscape, perhaps it could be death valley. The hot colours in the sky at dawn. What will the temperature soar to? The colours were done with glitter pens and a black italic nib pen.

Drawing from 28.6.2020, bottles, just came up on Facebook memories. The other photo was imported from the free images media here. I’d imported my drawing twice and can’t work how to delete the other one, only replace it. Of course I just realised how to delete it! So this post will probably end up with one photo, and a long rambling explanation why it had two…. Hang on. Sorted, I can see three pictures in the preview but only one in the post!

Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was nature. We have lots of trees in our garden. A lot of cherries have blown off our tree, so I drew some still attached! I took a photo but the colours aren’t quite right because it’s dark in here (trying to save electricity)….

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was Wing. I drew part of a wing….. A made up feather. I misread the prompt as flight (how?) I don’t know, so I was thinking flight feather, but I think it still works?

Life drawing, 30 minute sketch with the Orme Art Group. Felt pen and water colour pencil sketch. Dark blue acrylic paint curtain courtesy Steph from the group. Back to work again in a min!

Cheap, cheerful and quick! Found some pictures of pansies online and rememberd how much I loved them as a kid. So yet another felt pen (cheap and cheerful) sketch. Another #bandofsketchers prompt completed.

Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was Voyage. I loved drawing galleons when I was a child… I was all at sea with this challenge till I thought of that! Felt pens again…. A galleon ship sailing off along the sunset…

Floating was today’s #bandofsketchers prompt. I have taken this idea of Canada geese floating on the canal from an abstract painting I did in 2020. I moved the geese around in this and left out the greenery from the original. I used felt pens and a silver pen to give a liquid glint.

Cold was our #bandofsketchers Tuesday prompt.
How to keep cool in hot weather. We don’t have air conditioning so we occasionally use a fan to at least stir the air a bit. I’ve imagined one with ribbons (which would probably get tangled up). Just a quick felt pen sketch.
