I loved these weird images of cats on this post on Facebook. It’s too funny not to share. It might disappear in a few weeks because I don’t have enough memory for all the images I use and regularly delete photos when I get a media full message.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I don’t want to worry you doctor, but I don’t think the tablets you gave me worked? You see I’m still coughing, and I keep wheezing, and I feel odd…
Thank you for examining me. So you can hear the wheeze? Oh, more like a purr? How odd.
Now look doctor, I don’t understand. What do you mean, feline blood? No my family keep cats, they aren’t actually cats!
But it doesn’t make sense, I am not licking my cat! How can it be? A Furball? That’s what I’m coughing up?….. That’s Mad! And why have my pupils suddenly gone from round to slits? Oh doctor, am I turning into a Werecat!? Is that your diagnosis?

On one side my cat in the mirror, on the other side the view of him across the bedroom. Surprisingly the first image was in the mirror. I think I had a bit of camera shake when I took the photo of him across the room. It’s also odd because there seems to be more depth of field (depth perception) in the first one. I might do more pictures of reflections and see how they turn out.

I found this in the front bedroom while having a clear out. It’s the photo I used to base a painting of my old cat on. Looking up the stairs at the window. It’s great to find it, it brings back great memories of a very friendly intelligent cat. She used to like sitting in the sun on the windowledge. She would sit there in the mornings until the sun moved round to the other side of the house, then she would move to the bedroom window, or she would come downstairs and go out into the garden. Good memories.
My cat has taken to sleeping in this cardboard box, and I just saw the sign on the side ‘Chill 2/4°C’.
I had to get my camera and take a couple of photos on him. He might not be the cutest cat in the world, but he certainly is the sweetest to me.
He half closes his eyes, and I’m sure he smiles! He finds various places to sleep. This is his favourite place at the moment.

In 50 years of owning or being owned by cats none of them have ever properly watched TV. Oh Yes they have stared at it in a disinterested way. If they happen to be facing in that direction, but nothing stirred them.
That changed with my female cat which I have had for a couple of years. She started by watching little things like birds and mice, but she really did get interested when we watched cat programmes. Now she seems really into things like lions. I got a few photos a couple of months ago of her standing up and looking at the screen. How does she know, or not, that there is a genetic linkage with big cats? Do they move in a similar way? Was it the noises they were making….. I don’t know. I think it’s cute behaviour and I also think she’s a lot cleverer than her brother.. . You should see her play.

Sisters cat is so neat,
sisters cat is so sweet,
Sisters cat has cheerful purrs,
Sisters cat has kneading paws,
Sisters cat is still a kitten,
sister’s cat chases a mitten….
Sisters cat is all black,
Sisters cat is called Jack.
Sisters cat chases his tail,
Sisters cat, he likes gales.
When purring, pawing, kitten plays
You see him running through the days,
Now sisters cat is getting older,
And as the year will soon get colder,
On sister’s chair Jack cat will sleep,
Warm and snug, then wake and leap,
Down to the hearth to drink and eat.
Then off outside his friends will meet.
Hmm I didn’t know how to finish that…Sisters cat is actually female, but Jack sounds better. Anyway she is sweet and neat and purrs !

Some people don’t like black cats, but I do. I had two of them over the last few years. A female who was very sweet and tiny, and a big male who would sit and guard the cat flap at night.
My only worry with black cats is that they are difficult to see at night so I always put reflective collars on them. That goes for black and white cats to as they tend to have black bodies and the white parts are underneath or on their legs.
Black cats are supposed to be lucky in the UK where in other parts of the world they are meant to be unlucky. They have a history of being thought to be witches familiars, but I think if a lonely old lady wants a cat to keep her company she should not be persecuted for it. If a black cat walks in front of me I try to stroke it!
Cats were worshipped in Egypt and thought to be related to gods. I think the Egyptian cat God was Bast? however I may be wrong? Cats have lived with humans for thousands of years and caught mice and rats which eat grain, so they were well liked on farms.
Ideas for Black cat names? Sooty, Blackie, Beauty, Smudge, Molly, Lady, Archie, Night, Moonbeam…….
