Artrage doodle of an eye and nose, just playing with colour and line thicknesses. I liked the combination of yellow, beige and green and brown. I wanted it to look like a lino cut print. I used different pens to create the image.

Mug design
Badly drawn mug with a photo superimposed on it. I was just trying out the idea of what would work on a mug. I’m sure there are templates so you can see how things would work, but I don’t know which application is the best to choose? I think spoonflower and red bubble have them but I don’t know of there is a charge to use them. The pattern is a collage of a photo of my crocheted blanket, it was square so I had to draw curves so the top and bottom fitted into the shape. It might work?
Paranormal
I’ve never seen anything out of this world but Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was paranormal. I drew a spooky, ghostly cat, out on the prowl at night. Artrage app using various tools. I think I’ve made him too friendly!
Recline 1999
My first ever digital drawing using a mouse. I did it in 1999. I actually got it in my local open art exhibition. I guess it was unusual at the time although it is rather rough and ready. I found it on my Facebook memories. It isn’t as bright as the original. I’m not sure what happened to it.
Overcast seaside
Another painting of the Devon coastline. This is an old photo and I don’t know if I painted it in dark tones or if it was taken in a dark area. The headland in the distance gives you an idea of Devons rolling hills. It’s similar in Cornwall, hills that are rounded, climbing up to the moors. Dartmoor and Exmoor being two of them. Also in the foreground you can see golden sands surrounded by the dark jagged rocks that you see at many of the coves in the two counties. I hope I can visit again soon.
Making fused glass
Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.
A few years ago I met a fused glass artist who showed me how to work with glass to create jewellery, bowls and other hand made craft pieces. A friend of mine helped mount the glass with wire weaving.
I wish I had learnt more about it so I could experiment more with glass. This piece was made with dichroic glass which gives it a metallic sheen. I made it into a pendant.
The trouble is that I can’t afford my own kiln so I’m limited in making things at workshops. The original glass artist moved away and it took a while to find another one, I’ve been to a couple of workshops with her and really enjoyed it.
I’m interested in doing other crafts too, like ceramics, but again there is a lot of cost involved. But I am a bit of a jack of all trades (master of none?)
I could have chosen a much more important subject to show how I have learnt from experience, but I’m not in the mood to consider a serious subject today.
Shed
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was shed. Our shed is painted grey and stuck in a corner covered in ivy and privet and Russian vine. It’s crammed with ‘stuff’ and needs decluttering. We have flower pots by the door.it’s another digital drawing, this time done in my sketchbook app.
Complementary
Blue and orange are complementary colours. I thought I would use them to shade this drawing of a profile and straight on face. I like the way the two faces almost merge into one. This is a theme that appears quite frequently in art. It’s also something the band ABBA used when singing! They were not using these colours.

Bird?
Thinking of things to draw. I sketched this blue bird using a stylus again. I love the control that it’s giving me. This is using the Artrage app on my phone. It’s about to take flight. Using various tools gives it a more textured effect. I could have copied a photo and made it more realistic, but this way I can use my imagination.
