A cataract impression.

Lying in bed this morning.

I could see the window was blurry through my eye with my worst cataract and I wondered how to create an image of what it looks like? I took a photo through my bed sheet and it sort of worked. I also put it through a black and white filter because my sheet was pink. My eyesight isn’t as bad as this, but it does give an impression of what I imagine a really bad cataract would look like.

Turn guns into ploughshares.

What would you change about modern society?

And why not. There are too many weapons  in the world. Guns and missiles. Bombs and tanks. It’s about time we reconsidered what on earth we are doing to this planet of ours with so many wars and gangs and terrorists. Take the guns away, it’s harder to hurt people. I wish aliens would turn up and turn weapons into dust or soil. Just stop the killing, stop the greed, stop the misery. Use our resources to improve lives not destroy them. Imagine a world of peace if you can.

Plastic glass

I just liked the way the light shone through my plastic glass tonight. Taken at an angle with my phone camera…. It feels like a jelly mold or reminds me of razor shells. Funny how shapes and patterns can mimic each other.

I like taking random pictures of things, I take picturesque photos but also enjoy playing with images x

Everything!

What are you most worried about for the future?

I’m on the roundabout of life

Four horses gallop

Over the horizon

Middle aged men ride them

Chase my mind sideways

Illness is first

Hunger comes close second

But War will encompass all

Until one by one

A dark shadow stills them.

Money piles up around them

If we could part them from it?

We may have a better life.

Door handles

I’d got half my washing on the line, it’s a warm and breezy day so I thought I’d get it done. The flowers on the garden would add a beautiful floral scent.

Then, slump.. The line snapped. My airer is already full. What to do? I’ve hung tee shirts on the door handles. Towels on my step ladder, and on the towel rail in the bathroom, and since I won’t be going back outside in the heat, I even co-opted my grab handles by the back door. What was going to be a relaxing day turned into a taxing day!

CT scan

Just been for a scan to see what’s going on in my body. I had to have contrast medium to outline my blood vessels. I went to the hospital, waited an hour, had it done and was back out half an hour later. Thank you NHS.

I don’t know how much it costs here, but we do have free tests because we pay for it in our general taxes. I then decided to check what a CT scan costs in America. $675 to $10000 or more! And what if you don’t have insurance over there? Terrible to have to pay unaffordable amounts and even bankrupt yourself….. I’m lucky to live here.

Clouds

Seen last week. A mackerel sky? Or like waves on a beach or ripples in sand. One thing mimics another. There are only a few shapes in the world, so there is repetition. The Greeks had shapes that nested inside each other called platonic solids.

Wikipedia says:

The ancient Greeks studied the Platonic solids extensively. Some sources (such as Proclus) credit Pythagoras with their discovery. Other evidence suggests that he may have only been familiar with the tetrahedron, cube, and dodecahedron and that the discovery of the octahedron and icosahedron belong to Theaetetus, a contemporary of Plato. In any case, Theaetetus gave a mathematical description of all five and may have been responsible for the first known proof that no other convex regular polyhedra exist.

That went off on a bit of a tangent!
