Today’s #30daysketchbookchallenge drawing is based on the prompt green. This is the ivy growing up a tree over the road in the factory grounds.
Wooden puzzle box my grandfather made, he was a carpenter. I think I get my artistic abilities from him. It only opens one way. Watercolour and pencil on cartridge paper. It is a bit dark but I hope you can see it OK. Day 9, #30daysketchbookchallenge.
Band of sketchers prompt today hard. Carborundum is a man made creation, it’s exotic, iridescent, rainbow covered spikes are like something from a gothic fairy tale. Carborundum is thought to be a master healer that shines light in all areas of your life and connects to all chakras, purifies mind, body and spirit.’, a crystallography site…(Carborundum, second hardest thing to diamond on the Mo scale)
Caught up – day 6, under the sink… With added characters because it’s really boring!
Cavers explore the underworld of the sink. Avoiding hidden eight legged hairy spiders…. Mixture of watercolours and black italic marker pen….
Day 4, catch-up, jellyfish glass paperweight. Just got ‘handle and hook’ to do now, and then today’s….
I will post them here as I do them. This one was done with Arteza metallic watercolours on an A4 sheet in my cartridge paper sketchbook.

Tried to do the writing but I need better felt pens to get round the lettering…
I also need fresh pens, a lot of them are drying up. My hubby is using them too so they have done well to keep going.
It’s hard to draw images with lettering, I probably need some making fluid. I’ve never used it. Might get some.
I’m doing sketches for the #30daysketchbookchallenge now. This was for day two. I decided to do a watercolour sketch to represent one of the old adverts you had in victorian times for old grocery shops.
I used Windsor and Newton Watercolours overlaid with Arteza metallic watercolours to make it more interesting.
On catch up for #30daysketchbookchallenge, the first challenge was buttons.. This took an hour. For day 1, buttons….and a few marbles in this button bowl…
I’m not completely happy with it but decided to limit myself to an hour.. Used pencils, watercolour paint and felt pens. Not sure whether there is a time limit.
Tonights tea- a Thai takeaway from Sawadee Thai Taste restaurant in Hill Street, Stoke. My felt pens are running dry. I hope I can get some more. X it was very tasty.

It’s not even eleven thirty and fireworks are going off. I think people can’t wait for the end of the year. I don’t have any pictures of them so here’s a drawing I did a while ago of something vaguely like a firework.
I’ve tried to think of interesting things to post over the year, some poetry, some strange or silly stories, and mainly my Art. This year I haven’t been as inspired, and things have been distracting me. For instance the college course on illustration I’m doing. I hope you have enjoyed my blog, and that I can keep it going in the new year. Keep safe. Stay healthy!
