Clouds in Wales

fb_img_1547595767731fb_img_1547595741311

Bars of clouds ascend on high.

Coloured lights paint the sky

How I wish I could return,

to that land of woods and fern.

Mountains high

and valleys deep,

Singers from the Mines and Steel.

Workers with their hands and feet

Love their land through wake and sleep.

I can only look from far

Wishing always to be there.

Welsh by ancestors alone,

Looking cross the border land

Perhaps one day I will lie

Between the earth and cloud barred sky.

Walk and relax.

Cold grey, January day.

Duck lake, not Swan,

And every one is an ugly

One.

Muddy footprints,

Bike tracks too.

Mountain bikes rush past

Out of the blue.

Bare trees, bare branch.

Bare seat. Too cold to sit.

The wind is chill.

No time to stay still.

But walk a mile

Enjoy the view.

No longer frozen

Hands warm

Breath full

Revived.

Dreams

sketch-1546379065747.png

Lost in a dream, my thoughts engulf me.

Hidden deep below my surface mind,

Jagged edges, or soft pillowing breezes,

Cats turn into cacti, spiking my hands,

Squid tangle my hair in the deep ocean of gravity.

How do I find my way out, up, into night time waking or daylight glimmers.?

Shifting sands release my breath, choosing to push me up out of sleep.

Slumber expelling me for the day, until it slips back around me. Pulls me back down to the abyss. And I sleep and dream……..
