Cold

FB_IMG_1539991230479

Blue and cold, chill my bones,

Snow falls sifted like icing sugar.

Whorls of wind taking heat away.

to where? Icy fingertips frosted nose,

Ankles and feet lumped with shivers,

Cooled heels , cold arms, breath softly turned to cold fog.

Heating is on but not making a dent in the chilly room.

Yesterday was glorious, brilliant,  sunny.

Now I need thermal clothes to encapsulate me.

It may not warm till spring, when suns return heralds warmth.

Till then, head down, under duvet, I try and stay warm.

Winter begins in Autumns arms.

Hi

FB_IMG_1539906368919

A poem of spellchecker words…….

I tried the same way but

Sent from my old phone.

I enjoy the rest of the day,

Pearly white hair on the sofa,

Sent from my black bag,

Cause a bit of a victorian painting

Sent from my old address ,

So sharp and fine with the barn dance

I’m a little bit worried about the snow.

Its a bit like an expensive weekend.

Sent from my old version of my head.

Sleep

IMG_20170910_155739

What is sleep, this spider web of thought,

Old choices or soft places? Violence or love?

Never forget your dream until its over then it’s gone.

Reality is there . Belief in normality that is surreal.

Fire and ice, pain and grace.

How we dream of troubles,of happiness of joy of hate.

Integrating thoughts or losing the agony of pain.

Value sleep it is an escape into dreams.

Leaf fall

Crash.! Copper leaves rattle to the ground,

Metallic green willow leaves whirl around,

Dizzy spinning red acers, palm shaped, flutter into drifts.

Glowing gold Oak petals shimmer by the canal.

Hidden deep in a pile of leaves a cat waits to pounce on a wood mouse.

Flying like snow the fiery beech leaves burn into the blue sky.

Evergreens wave in envy, wishing they could change colour too.

Waiting for winter the trees stand proud, their autumn uniforms shimmer and billow.

Soon the gaudy clothes will be gone, and nude and chilly the trees will await a soft green spring.

Sunshine

Dear Sun, sweet heat,

giver of light, fire starter,

Star of our solar system,

GREAT gravity grabber.

Giant who makes us look small.

A speck, nothing at all?

Without you we would freeze,

Star less day is night.

One day you will bloat,

as you cool and burn yourself out?

Expanding to our orbit or more,

In a few billion years or so,

By then humans will have changed, evolved or become extinct,

Farewell Sun. Light of my life.

Here I am again

Doodling little squares,

Trying to catch life in a box.

Here I sit with pen in hand,

Drawing the world

Squeezing reality into 2 dimensions.

Time pauses while I sketch,

Only to leap forward an hour

When… I. … look.. .. Up..

Here is life compressed,

Its size shrunk like a postage stamp

With the world drawn on it…..

Here is here at Etruria, here I sketch.

Patterns

Oh I love pattern and colour,

I love birds, flowers and trees,

Green men, phoenix, mythical beasts.

Who wants bland and boring?

Who wants pale and wan?

Why not get those colours

Under your skin.

Life is so exciting.

Life can be such fun.

If only we embrace it

Under the sun.

Never give me plain things

Always give me jazz

Living in a coloured land

Magic has begun.
