Reflected in water

Morning, and I see the sky reflected in my washing up bowl. Two bowls gleam in the sunlight, and Christmas cacti stream downwards towards the bowl. Their flowers are still in bud, some have already flowered. You see how things are not as light as we imagine them. More mid tones than bright ones, only real highlights are on the bowls. Indoor plants help me stay happy….

Shadow

I saw this as a little dalek (it’s an alien from Dr Who) which is a BBC sci-fi series that started in the 1960’s. Its actually a washing up bottle with the cap up! It’s going to ‘exterminate’ grease and food waste. The windowsill is covered with indoor house plants, I like the curves of the bowls and their fawn colour against the blue of the tiles.

Life and everything

Sunset comes to us all. Life is a temporary blip between aeons of nothingness. Celebrate it while you can. When dawn rose life was difficult, you have to learn, to grow. I feel that real life doesn’t start until you reach adulthood or at least when you have to take on adult responsibilities. Then the middle of your life is taken up with nine to five, working for someone, or for yourself. Trying to survive. Finally, if you are lucky you get to retire, or retrain. At least have the hope of doing something you want to do. Keep at it if you can, find a way through to some amount of happiness. Then, rest.

Swan

He couldn’t get at the food, the branches were tangled and in his way. Even his long and slender neck was not suple enough, and the twigs seemed to move and prevent him gaining access to the grain a walker had scattered on the path.

If only he had swum a few yards, he could have stepped out of the water to reach the food he needed, but for some reason he would not. Maybe it was the dogs that were walked along the path? Something had frightened it and made it wary. So it was that it stared at the food but never reached it. Thankfully another walker strolled along later and threw duck food into the lake. Finally sated the Swan swam away to its bed in the reeds….

Layers

This picture was done using a photo of a cover if a colouring book, then duplicating and twisting and mirroringbit in the Layout app. Finally I changed the texture in photodirector, then added a background of starry nebulae and added a grunge layer to it (both in photodirector). The more you play, the more you learn!

Silhouette

A view across the snowy allotments from yesterday. The posts of the gateway and metal spikes on the top protruding up into the darkening sky. The pathway through the allotments is visible because the metal dars are bent at the top.

The year turns

Soon old man will be gone

Baby year will renew

Shadows of the old year

Still overwhelming…..
