Not a nut but the ring off the bottom of a wet glass. Water absorbed into the open unvarnished oak grain. A temporary signature that will soon dry.
Food and drink finished, I abandoned it to its quiet fate of invisibility. Evaporated, gone.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I just liked the way the light shone through my plastic glass tonight. Taken at an angle with my phone camera…. It feels like a jelly mold or reminds me of razor shells. Funny how shapes and patterns can mimic each other.
I like taking random pictures of things, I take picturesque photos but also enjoy playing with images x

That old Pareidolia kicking in again.
The dragons head upper left, then a thin neck and body, looking a bit like a viking boat. Finally a great sail of a wing catching the glow from the setting sun.
This was last Monday and it lingered on my phone until I found it today.
I don’t see sunsets very often because I’m on the wrong side of the hill. This was at the top of our hill and there are still buildings and trees in the way and as the sun drifts northwest as it sets in the summer there is more vegetation in the way.
Which activities make you lose track of time?
When I paint I lose track of time, the world goes away. Sometimes I lose myself completely. I know I feel pain in my arms nowadays, and I can’t always focus on the tip of my brush because I get slight double vision. But I have to do it. I’m under a compulsion to spread liquid onto a hard or soft surface (board, wall, or canvas) and recreate images or come up with ideas of my own….

My other passion is reading, I rarely read a book from cover to cover anymore unless it’s very short, my hands stick in place, my trigger fingers play up and I get cramp in them. But I do like using reading to send myself to sleep. I’m currently rereading The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. It’s a sci-fi novel set in the 1960’s? It’s also a very good film…. He was the author of Jurassic Park by the way.
Goodnight, off to bed to read….I might just lose track of time again. X

Feeling blue.
Can you see a face,…?
Head tilted to the left, a streak of light catching the nose?
My friend saw it first, where I had roughly painted the scenery for the show. Random brush strokes that created a male face…
My hubby’s face? Not scary, good to feel I had unconsciously incorporated him! He was an enthusiastic actor in the shows. Glad he was there apparently in spirit. X

Oh well
Not selected
Does not mean bad
Or unsuitable?
People have to fit in
With the style
The colours
The motifs
Of an exhibition.
Anyway
I liked it X
Which food, when you eat it, instantly transports you to childhood?

My favourite biscuits when I was a child were custard creams, a layered sandwich of two biscuits with a creamy vanilla layer in the centre. You would twist them apart and lick off the filling, then dunk the biscuits in a cup of tea, carefully soaking them and eating them before they got too soggy and fell apart.
Sometimes mom would buy a crispy slightly oatier version with a lemony centre to it which would be eaten in the same way.
Just reading the prompt took me back to our living room, sitting at the dining table with a China cup and saucer and matching plate. Milk jug and teapot. The biscuits were eaten after heinz sandwich spread sandwiches on white bread.
I also remember the rusty orange settee and the wallpaper with tiny rosebuds and ribbons printed on it.
Dad bought home a wallpaper book once, full of swatches of paper patterns in various colours. So exciting to look at.

Wish I’d taken a “before” photo. In the past my back yard would have already been a riot of colour. But age and infirmity have made it difficult to get out there and garden.
But my kind friends Lin and Twiggy came round and gave me a couple of hours of their time. Weeds removed, pots emptied ivy cut back, apple tree tied onto the fence. It’s still in need of sorting but it’s getting there!
Might be done in a couple of weeks all being well. Me? I’m knackered!

I say hello to him every day
His eyes twinkle and smile
He was my green man
Now sadly gone.

Reading someone’s post on Facebook about her losing a wheel cover bought back not so fond memories.
I took my tyre out of the boot once. Leaned it against the side of the car.. Only to see it roll down our hill…. Luckily it bounced off the side of a bus and rolled into the side of the road instead of down the hill onto the main road! The bus driver just laughed as I stood there open mouthed!
