I’m up messing about on my computer, I want to work out characters for a childrens story I hope to write and illustrate for my college project. I am not sharing what it will be called or the scenario. And given my bad grammar here I dont even know if I will be able to do it. But the saying goes that we all have at least one book in us. Mine might be a bit musty and old fashioned! I think I need dragging into the 21st century. I also want to find some watercolour sketches I painted years ago to illustrate this (its a very old project) wish me luck.

Mosaics

Just back from the last day of the BCB (British Ceramic biannual). I would have gone before but my leg restricted my movement. The exhibition was over three floors but luckily there was a lift. Of the numerous ceramics my favourites were a series of mosaics by a ceramic artist called Cleo Mussi. I will post other photos but I wanted to share these.
Dragon scales

Experimenting again with dragon ideas. This one is made up of a drawing coloured in with different nail varnishes and then duplicated and mirrored after adding texture digitally. The blurred section had the words ‘dragon scales’ written on it but I decided to blur that out.
Each of these experiments will be added to a portfolio of images that will go towards my final major project for college.
Sand

Digitally edited photo of a piece of sand. Using Photodirector and Layout apps, then adjusted the colours in Instagram.
The initial photo was of rippled sand on Rhyl beach in Wales. Photo taken on a sunny day with shadows cast by the sun.
Dragon digitally

I’m working on a series of images of dragons for a college project. Working towards a final depiction of a dragon for my proposed children’s book.
Thus started out as a bit of glittery painting I’d called dragon skin. Then I mirrored it so it was symmetrical. Finally I drew features on it symmetrically using a digital sketching app. I like the idea of amalgamating digital and analogue art.
Processes

I’m not explaining, it’s too complicated. But here are two pictures. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt ‘sharp shards’ and then digitally edited it to create the second image. I think it coukd be used as a fabric design. I had fun.
Sharp

I have done an abstract using shiny acrylic paint and a pallette knife, then using felt pens to add colour. I’ve called it ‘sharp shards’. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was sharp.
As usual I’m experimenting with materials and techniques. I love colour and I added splashes of it with bright felt pens I bought lasr week. The acrylic paints are little bottles with glittery and opalescent colours.
Free meal?

A fourth cat is trying to muscle in with my other three cats. We think she’s female and she has spent an hour yowling in the garden. We have two indoor /outdoor cats and one outdoor/indoor cat. Hubby likes the look of her and went out and fed her!
Cats they are cheeky
They know a trick or two
How to get a free meal
And some loving too!
Yowling and purring
Making such a fuss
She will soon be eating
A free meal, will that puss!

Dragon sculptures

I’m doing a project about dragons for college and suddenly I keep seeing them. Today there were two dragon sculptures in our local garden centre. It’s like if you own a certain type of car you will see that type everywhere. Own a mini? No doubt you will see them. Just mentioning a type of car and I think it prompts your brain to notice them.
Anyway I think dragons I will be spotting all over the place for the next few days.
