Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was cross. I decided to try and draw some sort of jewel like cross. It got a bit messy as a felt pen drawing so I edited it adding texture with photodirector AI style and then added a background to it in the same app.

An Easter symbol, digitally manipulated. Today is Christian Good Friday when Jesus was crucified. I thought I would try creating something that looked slightly baroque but combined with a simple brown cross shape. I added light on the final panel. I’m not religious, but at this time of year the symbology and ideas of peace and love stick with me. I hope this is OK and does not cause offence.

Met a lady with this beautiful girl today. Its a shitzu crossed with another dog, but I’m afraid I can’t remember what that was. Such a nice natured dog, she was interested, intelligent, listened to her owner. Was friendly. Had no ‘snappiness’ even when the singer who was entertaining us had a crackling microphone which disturbed his own dog. I think she’s really pretty and asked permission to take a photo. This might turn into a painting.

Three crosses in Stoke Cemetery, seen on my walk today. I’m interested in the celtic patterns on them, some more pronounced than others. This ancient design style is subtle and complex. I want to learn more about them again. I wrote a thesis on pre- Christian celtic art for my degree, but I would love to learn how to draw the patterns. I get lost in the patterns. I need quiet and concentration I think.

Tried to do a celtic cross (wonky). Sponged black paint. Black ink, then watercolour and finally a bit more black ink on top…
#bandofsketchers prompt today is Easter. I did try and copy this from a photo, but my left hand and arm wobble and shake so much its affecting my right arm. Very fed up. Would love to do something more accurate. I think I’d better try and get in the doctors.
