Plonked down
on a bath towel
On a mat
There’s the cat
In a basket snug
Like a bug in a rug!
Paws over nose
Or tail across his face
They will find any place
To snuggle
Or be cuddled
Sleep 16 hours
Glad he’s ours!

Two cats on the sofa. I used my photodirector app to change and enhance the texture of the photo. The two cats rarely sit together so it was nice to see them being so calm and friendly to each other. I think relaxation is the main reason for cats!

Closed eyes against the sunshine
Dazzled in the low sun
He came in for five minutes
Ate some food
Said hello
Then off he goes
Enjoying the afternoon, bright
In the brilliant, illuminating light.

Oh you sweet cat
One belly rub required
To make him happy
But beware the claws
That protect his tummy
From your intrusion
Be careful
Or you may lose your hand!

I wish I was a cat
Lying on a bag
Tongue peeping out
No need to shout
Asleep and happy
Having a nap, he
Curves round
Belly upwards
A really sweet cat
Dreaming of birds
Seen through a window
In the sun
On a spring morning.

The cat came in and plonked himself down to sleep in a quiet place last night, partway up the stairs! He settled down to snooze, which was fine, but at bedtime, he was in the way. However cats have pride of place here, so because there was room to put a foot next to him we let him be. Then during the night I had to come downstairs a couple of times. He was still there, curled up. Luckily he has a white band across his back so I could see he was there. This morning? Still having a kip. I gave him a couple of cat treats which he ate. We are letting him be, I checked and could see no injuries so he must just be tired. X

Yes, we have three cats
Hungry, playful, cheeky
Are not their names
Sometimes together
Sometimes apart
Chasing each other
Loving toys
Liking treats
Eating catnip.
Hiding in, under, on.
Jumping, climbing, causing
Fun and trouble
Things, found, battled
Played with.
Equipped with claws and teeth
And purrs and growls
Formidable felines!
Nine lives!

I do love sharing this painting of one of my old cats. It’s about twenty or twenty five years old. Just after we moved to our current house. She used to love sitting behind the flowerpot at the top of the stairs. By the way the weeping fig grew to five foot tall before we had to rehomed it because it got too big for the space in the kitchen where it had to be moved too because it got too big for the windowledge. Thank goodness the cat didn’t grow that big!

He came in out the rain, jumped up on the chair arm and flopped down next to me. Head hanging down by my knee. So comfortable and relaxed. He wasn’t fully asleep though. As soon as I took his photo he decided to move.
All three of our cats were within a few feet of each other earlier on. I think it’s because we are just having a couple of heaters on in the living room to save energy. So they are huddling a bit to keep warm. Mi d you I’ve got the living room light on for a change. Sometimes it’s like living in a cave when we just have a couple of lamps on. I can imagine myself doing paintings of cats on the walls, like cave paintings. X

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was telephone. When I saw this prompt I wasn’t sure what to do. I decided to design a phone case that I would like (mines falling apart) I haven’t go a tabby cat but I drew one to make it more colourful. ©.
