Two cats

Cats sleeping, keeping warm. Sitting by the heater. One has pride of place, the other is trying to sneak closer. They are closer to each other than they used to be, they sniff noses and work out a friendly way of living together. Sometimes though they move from the heaters because they overheat I think, then they move even go and sit by the back door. They both watch the world through the catflap, a bit too cold to actually go outside. The smallest cat usually relaxes upstairs either on our bed or in a little cat bed in the other room. I wish she would be a bit more confident around the boy cats, but she has always been the nervous one.

Cats in the garden

Warmest day of the year in the UK so far today. 19°c. A couple of weeks ago it was freezing. Our cats were out in the sunshine. Basking. On the chair on the ground. The third cat was mooching somewhere in the bushes so I missed getting a picture of her. Everything is growing madly so I had a go at trimming the top of a fir tree (not tall) and some branches off an overgrown buddlea. Now I ache all over, eight hours later. I wish I was a cat.

Two cats asleep

My two boy cats last night, sleeping on an armchair and on the arms between the two armchairs. I’d got up to get a drink because I couldn’t sleep again. First one came up to say hello, after he’d been cuddled he went to sleep on the chair where the bigger cat usually sleeps. Then the big cat came in and seeing his usual space was taken jumped up next to me on the chair arms. Eventually he settled down too. It’s so good to see them getting on so well. The big one could bully the others but he doesn’t, they all three are pretty respectful of one another. If you are wondering where the third one, the small female was, she was upstairs curled up in the cupboard!
