He’s a lot better

My cat that got trapped and didn’t come home for eight days. He’s had treatment because he was covered in a tarry substance, he’d licked it off a bit which burnt his mouth and he’d injured his eye and had ulcers in it.

After a few weeks going backwards and forwards to the vets he’s a lot better. His eye is getting better and his mouth is fine. He needs to grow his fur back where it was shaved off to remove the tar. He has to stay in a while longer to prevent sunlight burning his eye.

So I’m happy that he is recovering and can have a good life again. X

I think this came out quite well. I started with straight lines then added the curves. It’s meant to be a bit asymmetric. I think it has a 1930’s feel? I could imagine it as a stencil. It needs some tissue paper behind it, perhaps red or orange. The craft knife was so sharp it actually cut slivers of plastic off the ruler. A couple more to do but I’ve really enjoyed learning a new skill.

Reaching, stretching, paws up, claws out. But he’s only saying hello.

Just look at those whiskers, able to twitch and feel. Helps with moving around in the dark. Used to check a space is wide enough to get through. Pushed forward when he’s interested in something, sniffing and smelling his food or a cat nip toy.

Claws ready to knead and pull, to show he loves you by ‘poddling’. A happy cat….

Tickle his tummy! The cat is relaxed and happy. He wants a belly rub. Tail twitching slightly, but claws sheathed, he’s purring, eyes closed, content.

You know your cat is happy and relaxed when it does this!

Just delivered this to my friend. She is really happy with the necklace I made. The others have gone to the Waiting Room gallery in Longport, Stoke-on-Trent. They are having an open day on Saturday along with Cherished Chimneys across the road from there. I like the way it lies flat, the wire weaving looks really neat and the colours look good together.

I was sitting in the living room tonight and instead of tapping at the cat flap like he normally does, our adopted cat gave an enormous miaow/yowl. I could hear him above the TV!

He then came in, had some food and drink, sat by my feet for a few minutes, purring very loudly then: Miarowwww… He’s up and wants letting out again. That cat has got powers of persuasion! No doubt he will be back in an hour or so.

My college course is getting us to make sets and draw from them. So I’ve created this bizarre landscape. The figures were decorated at a pottery workshop. The goat figurine was made by my friend Rie. The baby Buddha was a gift from a friend. The plants are from the kitchen as is the grater. Now I’ve got to redraw it but use my imagination to change it…. M

Shattered. Thought there was another Zoom meeting … But ended up miming to a virtual panto song. We are holding a virtual pantomime in a couple of weeks. Songs and sketches.. (our village hall usually holds a live one in February), so we are doing a ‘locked down in panto land pantomime!!

Poor bike. I last road it seven years ago, and since then it’s been gathering dust. I still love it. Its actually the right size (19 1/2 inch frame) for my short legs. But my balance isn’t good and I think I’m shrinking. The bike still has toe clips in that I think my feet might get stuck in…. But… Now I’ve lost weight I might just be able to set it up and use it… Can anyone tell me where to get stabilisers? X
