Digital pigeon

Artrage oils drawing from several years ago. This is the free version of the app. You only have the oil pen tools but it certainly can be used to create interesting effects. I like this a lot, I used the metallic option to give it this sheen. If you tone down the metallic effect the colours become paler and you can draw over the darker parts (where I have outlined the bird) as it seems to be more opaque and covers over the darker areas.

Doodle in ArtRage oils free app. I’m so busy drawing with felt pens that I forgot that I have it on my phone. I’m sort of sticking with blue and yellow as my main colours. Why, because Ukraine is on my mind. I guess this isn’t brilliant but finger painting with smudgy drawing tools can be difficult. I don’t know what made me draw this, but it was fun..

Drawing digitally.

I haven’t done much digital drawing lately. This was done in the free ArtRage app. I was just messing around with complementary colours, in this case red and green. I might lay around with hues and tones in a later iteration of this. It’s only a finger painting really, using metallic and non metallic digital paints.

I should try and copy a photo or use the other ArtRage app I have which is the pro version. I also could play with photoshop. I will think about it when things quieten down a bit.

ArtRage free app

Both these drawings were done as digital finger paintings in ArtRage oils, a free app in the Galaxy play store.

I’ve had the app for ages, so like a lot of things you become blase and don’t remember to use it, but it’s there in the background. Anyway I liked playing with these drawings, there is a metallic option and with the first I gradually dialled down the metallic pen as I worked my way out . This also has the effect of making the colours paler. I only used the thick oil brush on its widest setting.

The second picture, poppy, was drawn over the top of the first. Instead of just using one brush I used the driest brush option and used dots as well as streaking the red colours across the picture.

I’m sure there is much more I can do. I love vibrant colours and this app gets me excited. I love having a 3d effect when I’m drawing digitally.
