Since we haven’t got a tree this Christmas I haven’t put any baubles or decorations up. But that didn’t stop me getting an old box of them out to draw. The #bandofsketchers prompt for Christmas Eve…. Now I’m having a caramel chocolate and a glass of port while watching ‘the day after tomorrow’ I guess they put it on because its full of snow…..
Today’s sketch of one of our bookcases. I’m too short sighted to see it well… For #bandofsketchers prompt: books.
Two other artists posted photos of their bookcases, we all have appear to be bibliophiles, with large collections of books. I’m glad, I don’t understand how you can go without them. Yes you can buy them online. But there’s nothing like a real book in your hand…. And I can say from experience that if you drop a book on the bath it dries out better than a phone!
Well, I tried to draw our living room lampshade. But with the light on it is a bit too dazzling. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was looking up.
I used a few felt pens, including a gold and two browns. Also a black and a yellow and finally a grey for the shadows on the ceiling. I outlined the edges with a bit of black biro. I might also do something else as I’m not totally happy with this.
Two gold rings, drawing for #bandofsketchers prompt ‘Gold’ today. I shake sometimes these days so the drawings are a bit wobbly! Permanent markers and felt pens on cartridge paper. Added dots to give an idea of textured cloth under the Rings…
Well its sort of finished….digital drawing on wacom tablet- oh Im out of practice….Random found pink objects with a green background for contrast and beige speaker and table top to show up the pink better…
a few years ago I would have been able to do better than this.. you know what practice does? It makes you do things better. In my case I used to do digital drawings virtually every day. I knew what buttons to press, what brushes to choose. So now I have to learn again and im definitly going to watch some videos on using photoshop and get a later version, this was done in Photoshop7… my very old version, I just don’t like the idea of paying a monthly fee to use the newer versions….
My purple coat that I walked nine miles in. It’s still wet! #bandofsketchers prompt was purple. Sitting on the settee with a stripey cover on it. I’m surprised how mant purple felt pens I’ve got. It is one of my favourite colours. X
Spoon on a chair throw. My version of shiny… My drawing for today’s #bandofsketchers prompt.
Drawn with felt pens and permanent marker pens. Why a spoon? It was an opportunity to draw the bowl of the spoon and the way the reflections curve round it. The handle is a bit wonky, but not bad. Reasonably happy with it.
#bandofsketchers prompt. My cluttered desk, there’s a keyboard for the computer under there somewhere. Used slightly more muted colours. I’ve definitely got too much ‘stuff’ in my life!
Our prompt was Treasure, but I don’t really possess any, so I drew the rings I wear every day. For instance I bought my own wedding ring for £27. I’m sure my friends will have better treasures.
Fine liner pen, marker pens, a gold and silver pen. On an A6 cartridge paper sketchbook.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was vegetables, so I decided to draw some new potatoes. Metallic pen and pencils on black cartridge paper background. Makes a change from felt pens. Probably could have taken more time over it but I like the effect.
