Back to singing

After a couple of weeks off I went back to choir practice tonight. I still have a tickly cough and every time I tried to sing with any volume it set it off. It’s annoying because it’s hard to harmonise with a growly voice! It was throwing it down with rain, but there was a good attendance there. The first thing that happened though was I shook my hands because they were wet from the rain running down them from my coat, and the three rings on my right little finger shot off my hand and into a dark corner. I wouldn’t have realised that it had happened but they twinkled as they fell. Luckily the choir leader had a torch so I found them with a couple of other choir members help. I’ve lost weight and my fingers have got a bit thinner. Anyway, despite the problem with losing my rings, and the croaky voice, I’m glad I went out. It’s such a nice atmosphere there.

Trifle and curling, a quiet afternoon

Have you ever seen curling? Curling ๐ŸฅŒ is a game on ice where two teams take it in turn to slide curling stones on an icy surface along to a target ๐ŸŽฏ area. The closest to the centre (button) wins its a game of strategy. Curling stones can be set to guard the target, preventing the other team from getting close to the centre. Curling stones can be sent gently down the ice, or hard, to knock the other teams stones out of the target area. Each team gets the ‘hammer’ in turn, which means going last in the end. An advantage as you may get a stone in the best position on the last curl of the end. There are different games using slightly different rules. I was watching the UK against Sweden at the Olympics today. And that’s where the trifle comes in. I had dome of it for lunch. Then noticed the bade of the dish has circles in it a bit like a curling target! Just a nice gentle lunch and bit of telly watching. X

A pile of….

A pile of…. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt. My rings on my little finger. I didn’t really wear any rings except my wedding ring and my mums that I inherited from her. But gradually my hubby has bought me more. I don’t want or need any more, this is enough of a pile of metal!

Coloured pencil, metallic pencil and felt pens.

Band of sketchers, Treasure

Our prompt was Treasure, but I don’t really possess any, so I drew the rings I wear every day. For instance I bought my own wedding ring for ยฃ27. I’m sure my friends will have better treasures.

Fine liner pen, marker pens, a gold and silver pen. On an A6 cartridge paper sketchbook.

Circles, today’s USK prompt.

I just had to find circles to drawย  for today’s Stoke on Trent urban sketchers challenge. I hope ellipses count as tipped up circles. In that case there are rings, a mug, a dream catcher and a mobile in this sketch… If not I guess the dream catcher and mobile in the window count. Black ink on cartridge paper.ย  Next drawing due Sunday I think….
