New paintings and regular art updates.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was bang/jump. I really wanted to try and draw an exploding firework so I used an app called sketchbook and drew something using a symmetry tool.

What are your favorite websites?

My favourite websites are art ones. A lot of them don’t have much in the way of tools. Often the drawing is already there and you just use a fill tool. They are boring. But I found a free app called Artrage oils which I used for several years till I got a new phone. Then I upgraded to Artrage which has a lot more tools, sketchbook app which has different tools and a few other ones that are good for editing, like photodirector. I now use them all in combination. It’s fun!
To the #bandofsketchers prompt blue. A blue made up face using Artrage app. Its not very exciting, I wasn’t sure what to do. Anyway it’s good to start catching up with the prompts, digital drawing,

#bandofsketchers prompt for Thursday was Cutter. I hope this is a cutter? In April I did a tall masted ship drawing on the theme Voyage. A friend saw it and wants a painting of it. This is my work in progress that I thought fits the prompt cutter…acrylic on canvas.

Another #bandofsketchers catch up. Prompt was Halloween/Día de Los Muertos. I don’t know much about the day of the dead so I drew a cartoonish Dracula instead. Artrage app.

Another #bandofsketchers prompt. Not a brilliant effort! I tried to draw disconnected bits of chain, without looking at bits of chain. The chain links are not uniform in size and the outline is too thick.
I could write a poem.
My brain is disconnected
From anything elected
If its political
I’m often critical
Of policies they’ve selected!

#bandofsketchers prompt travel, I wish I’d travelled to Hadrians wall and had seen the iconic “Sycamore Gap” before some idiots chopped the wonderful tree down. It was around 200 years old and healthy. Drawn in felt pens, imagining it’s autumn colours.

Profile doodle. I drew a pattern then erased the shape of a face. I could try and make this different by changing it from positive to negative. I’ve started drawing a bit more and began a painting of a galleon at sunset yesterday. It’s not finished but I will post it later.

Artrage oils drawing from 7 years ago. Popped up on my Facebook memories. I love the way you could use metallic brushes to create this. It’s sort of mid way between a butterfly and a pigeon. It’s a good memory.
