My friend
Sitting on the chair arm
Next to me.
Staring into space
Front paws shuffle
Finding comfort
Whiskers alert.
Another cat
On the other chair arm.
Lies down
Looks at me
Where’s my tea?

Watching the Great British Sewing Bee on TV (a TV show on BBC which pits a number of amateur sewing competetors against each other) I drew these trying to channel fashion, remembering old fashioned sewing patterns you could get in the 1970’s. I doodled a design, but not feeling very well so just messing about. I used Artrage and Photodirector to create the patterns.

Cherry Scone with jam and cream.
Tasty treat makes me beam!
But how do you pronounce this fodder?
Which pronunciation is odder?
Call it a scone?
Once eaten it’s gone!
Call it a scone?
To rhyme with stone?
But surely that’s fake?
It’s then a rock cake!

Drawings from a few years ago at the Dorothy Clive garden that came up on my Facebook memories today. Happier days, when things were not so difficult. Sometimes time should be allowed to go backwards. Even if it’s like the film back to the future. A few hours to tweak the space time continuum. Then I could still be happy. But nil desperandum I need to get on with life. No regrets? I don’t think so.

Oh the joy of a happy cat
Smiling teeth, sharp claws
Ready to pounce
Satisfied with his hunting skills
He can stay in the house
Leave birds
Play with his toy mouse!
Stay happy but quiet!
Good cat!

Put my digital drawing through an app called photodirector. I chose the AI scene option. You can see how it’s affected the image.

Drawn on my Wacom tablet in photoshop 12 years ago. Based on the Escher drawing. I think I was drawn to the idea of a hand holding a reflective ball. This was a real challenge and was mainly drawn from imagination, but I looked at my hand held up in this position to draw it accurately.
The room in the reflection is based on what was in front of me but with added curves to try and recreate the spherical feeling. The room had been ‘edited’ removing some of the clutter. The view is not what would have been reflected in a globe which was a wall behind me. Only my head and shoulders were truly imagined.

A busy abstract pattern that evolved in a couple of apps. Not very neat and tidy and only done this because I couldn’t think of anything else on the busy theme. For prompt “busy” #bandofsketchers

Drawings for the Stoke-on-Trent urban sketchers group. I was sorry not to see any other urban sketchers there at Etruria today but I was just there to sing with Clay Chorus and the Boat Band. I was getting a lift there and back with someone so I couldn’t stay. First drawing, The Forge with someone sitting on the wall. The second was across the canal on the car park looking back at the festival while waiting for the Shuttle bus. Hampered by a stiff breeze and my hat blowing off twice!

Artrage digital drawing. I saw some poppies against a grey sky and I decided to quickly draw a representation of the colours. Drawn using a stylus rather than a finger painting. I like the ways the stems aren’t always straight.
