I’m looking  at my stats and I’m confused. Over 1000 people have been looking at my posts today. Usually it’s more like 67, what’s going on. This week it seems to be mainly American and last week it was China.

I wonder if this is real or bots? I can’t imagine my ramblings are sufficiently interesting to attract this level of scrutiny. Has anyone else had this experience? Will this continue or gradually ebb away?

So many questions, so much puzzlement? If anyone can answer or have I bored everyone enough yet?

Something is going on with my stats and they have skyrocketed. I looked at the countries that have been viewing my posts  and there are hundreds from China?

I don’t know why, I’m not a very exciting person. Is someone accessing my posts to teach an AI? A weird thought, but I am speculating.

I’ve never had this experience before and would love to know what’s going on? Does anyone have any insight into this?

Computer problems

My wiring has gone wrong. The tangle of wires behind my arm chair has been mashed. The heavy armchairs, I got second hand, have castors, unfortunately. I’ve had to move them a couple of times and then with my weight, they are knackered. Plus the socket they plug into must have got clattered with the hoover? It was cracked. Anyway it was over 25 years old.

So I tried the computer because the landline still isn’t working. I got an error message, my ethernet cable isn’t plugged in. I checked both ends, they look OK. I will get replacements and see if I can fix it. I’m going to pin the wires up on the wall to stop them getting damaged again. X

Fed up of AI

I keep seeing images of things that are clearly done with AI, people with scrambled faces or 6 fingers. I love astronomy, but sometimes the pictures can’t be real. There are videos of the moon being hit by a massive asteroid and disintegrating, or photos purporting to be close ups of black holes. At best these are using AI for artistic licence or an impression of what something looks like. But at worst they are meant to fool you. Maybe to confuse or to scam? I’m glad there is an option now for people to label their posts as AI generated. But do you think the scammers would use labels? I doubt it.

What’s also annoying is that websites use algorithms, if you like this you might want to look at something similar. But the new group isn’t necessarily well managed and then the garbage sneaks through.

So beware of what you see and try and fact check if you can. Don’t be fooled or scammed.

Tired again

I made a mistake last night and decided to watch the Presidential debate. It started at 2am and I went to bed at 4.30am totally dejected by the whole thing.

What they talked about has no doubt been reported across the world. But as a person interested in politics it was in turn worrying and unbelievable! It was like two boys squabbling, one a big bully and the other a child with illnesses that made him weak. I’d hate to be their parents. Two moderators tried to keep control, but never chastised the bully or called out the constant lies. In fact I’d call one of the speakers a spoilt brat!

Why run politics this way? Too much power and pressure in the hands of one man. There must be other ways to do it. I know of one country that chooses a random citizen once a year in a type of raffle? You have to be a decent, healthy person, but then your job is to work hard for your country. There must be some guidelines but no one gets absolute power. Is that a good idea?

Timely ability

What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

I have a strange ability to do with time. If I’m cooking something in the oven and set the timer for whatever length of time the dish needs cooking I will have an urge to get up and check the time at exactly one minute to go! It happens virtually every time. It’s weird.

Other timely abilities included knowing when my hubby was coming home from work no matter what time his shift ended. I could not relax until a few minutes before he got home. This was despite the time not being a regular thing and no phone calls (he wouldn’t use a mobile phone). (One of my cats was always waiting for me when I came home, the same thing?).

Finally, I can be sitting at traffic lights and if I count to ten, the lights will usually change before I finish counting. I’m not sure why but it seems to work say about 70% of the time.

My thoughts are that I’m living time backwards! I can’t understand how it works. I know we humans have ‘timing’ cells in our brains that regulate our ability to measure time. Perhaps my cells are very accurate? It’s a mystery.

Describe a family member.

So how to do describe a family member? The wrinkles on their face? Their hair colour, skin colour, other physical attributes? Height, weight, hairstyle, glasses or not.

Faces are square, firm jawed, soft skinned, made up, lipstick, mascara. Eye colour, hair colour.

Musical, artistic, crafty, cook, reader, tidy scruffy or normal?

Add a few of these as a combination…

Arthritic, short, hairy, smiling, vegetarian, rock chick?

Or balding, bearded, blue eyed, tall, scruffy, and a mechanic.

A person may describe me in one way, someone else in another. Without facial recognition would you recognise me from my description? How many other people fit the discription?

My family members will remain hidden from the Internet. Because I don’t want to share. I think that’s fair enough.

Something has come up. Google domains has been sold to squarespace. People can transfer them free of charge to WordPress?

But how do I know if I have a Google domain? I tried looking it up but didn’t go far, I need to write down the sequence of what to do or I might get lost? Plus how come Google is allowed to sell something you have already paid for? Is it like buying a car and then being told the maker has gone bankrupt so your car now belongs to someone else? I never understand this guff….

I play with these drawings to create a double image of two faces. One side has more texture than the other using different apps.

One side is sharper than the other, the left hand side has been processed through photodirector to add texture.

Does it matter what I did or why? Isn’t it more important to create something? I explain what I’ve done, but is there any significance? I see work in exhibitions wherr the piece of art will have a longwinded explanation of what the Art is about. I like to play and explore, I might not have a specific intention, but I hope what I do has some integrity….
