I didn’t know what to draw for Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt but I’m watching climbing on TV so I drew the TV and its surroundings. Very quick sketch, five minutes in felt pens. Just used a bit of colour on the screen.

New paintings and regular art updates.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was skyline. I’ve been trying to see the perseid meteor shower that is currently happening but the moon has been too bright and has drowned things out with its light. I was hoping to see something because it’s been warm enough to stand outside late at night.. Felt pen drawing filtered in Photodirector.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was curves. I drew random curves with a few felt pans taped together. Then I used Masking tape to block out lines. Finally I coloured in the uncovered paper, then removed the Masking tape and coloured the rest I’m slightly differently. I left the pad on the floor after taking a photo and the cat who had wet paws from sitting in the water that had spilled out of the hanging basket came snd sat on it and smudged it badly. So I added more colours to define the patterns again. That’s why there are two photos.
I’m due to see my doctor about anxiety and my hubby has ptsd so I need to find strategies to cope. I think counselling helps but I’m going to try and keep a gratitude diary, where you write three minor gratitudes a day every night for at least 28 days. It helps rewire your brain towards more positive thinking. I’m going to start a little sketchbook and do simple sketches of them. Like the traffic lights stayed on green for me yesterday when I was going somewhere and was late, so that was a little gratitude, I met someone who gave me this idea, that’s a small gratitude, and someone cleared away some flytipping in the alley next to our garden, that’s the third. I will add small sketches to illustrate mine. I think it might help my creativity and give me new ideas, but if it doesn’t I’m not worried because I think it will help me cope. You don’t record big things, just small gratitudes.

I did this a few years ago. Living in the city of Stoke-on-Trent means there are places where you can pay to paint pottery with glazes and then collect the finished piece a week or so later. I found a place in Burslem which was about half the price of other potteries and the vase was double the size. I think it was called Stafford Pottery, its on the opposite side of the road to Burslem Town Hall. I gave the resulting jug as a Christmas gift. I usually paint cats but have been known to paint horses too… I know it’s mainly a kids thing, but it is fun.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt is ‘straight’. The cat went straight up the tree! It was going to be a straight road but when I started drawing I changed my mind. Felt pens white pencil crayon and black ink fine line pen.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt is laughter. Well I tried to channel laughter and came up with a rather evil looking clown! Doodled this late last night then coloured it in this morning when I could see what colours I was using… Eek!

Butterfly drawing. Done in an app called sketch. There is a symmetry section in the tools and rge main pen I used seems to make sparks like a firework sparkler. I could see something like this on a circular canvas, maybe as a statement piece in an apartment.

Combination of artrage oils sketch and then worked on in Photodirector, oo I like it! Sounds simple but I did a lot of work on the digital sketch before I started using filters. I won’t post the original, it’s a bit too scrappy.
A couple of splodges of black ink on a post it note inspired this fly doodle. Just waiting for my PC to sort itself out, I haven’t switched it on for a while and it’s playing up… So a fly in the ointment?.. Maybe
