Hot or cold
Super tasty
Fruit or veg
Making batter
With an edge.
Bananas, apples
Whatever you like
Add some syrup
And a flake.
Nice to eat
Good to taste
Can’t be beat
There’s no waste!
Molecules spin
Atoms twist,
Protons crackle
Neutrons buzz
Electrons fizz
Quarks charm
Muons jitter
Neutrinos just don’t bother…….
Aries the Ram
Looking at you,
Head tilted.
Ready to charge you,
Run at you.
Butt you.
Start of April,
A constellation
Up in the sky
Aries the Ram
Force of nature.
Hard headed
April showers
Hit your head with hail.
Wind whips round
Like a Ram
Bashes you
Thumps you.
Weather and stars
Adventure and growth.

Tidal waves of books,
Sloshing round my room,
Pouring down from bookcases
Dripping from tables,
Making a beach of pamphlets
Puddles of novels
A tide of documents.
I sit in a paper sailing boat
Atop an ocean of biography.
Littered with paperbacks
Swimming with pratchett turtles
and the old man of the sea.
I’m drowning in books,
Flooded by books
Waves crashing over my head.
Whirlpools of literature ……..
A friend just requested words ending in ‘age’ and I thought it could be an interesting thought poem…

Tonnage, now that’s heavy

Last ice age?
Cabbage
Carriage
Wage
But not gauge!
You arch the river
Cover the water
Stretch over the bend
Fly across your reflection.
Green trees,
Green grey surface,
Grey and yellow stones
Pale browns.
Your feet touch down in the stream
The curve of you bends over the water.
They travel across you
but don’t see your majesty.
