Facebook memory, cheered me up. Three of the black and white kittens our female cat had. She was a rescue cat, and her previous owner mentioned she might be pregnant. I think they must be over five years old now, they all went to good homes. I miss them, but if we had kept them there would have been six cats in the house, which was too many for us. But as far as I know they are all safe and happy. X

Five years ago?
So long…
A kitten jamboree
A smorgasbord of kittens
Sweet enough to eat.
Four of them
But one was shy
Two to one home
Two to another
Happily ensconced
But a hole in my heart ♥

Three of the four kittens our female rescue cat had. This was three years ago. They went to new homes soon after this. I know they are happy and I’m glad we rehomed them. Six cats would really have been too much for us.
As it is our cats are starting to be introduced to the stray that has been hanging around for a couple of years. I managed to get both of ours down to the vets for their first inoculation. Now I’ve got to get the abandoned cats microchip changed and have him taken to the vets for a health check up and shots. Suddenly things are getting serious. We have decided he’s not spending another winter in the shed if our two will tolerate him. We are going to gradually introduce them to each other. I hope this will work out. X

The kittens were starting to grow, getting ready to pack their bags and move in with their new parents.
I came across this photo today. They were so mischevious. The one with the black mask is still called Bandit, the new owners changed the other ones name.
I sometimes see photos of the two girl kittens, but I’ve lost track of how the boys are doing. Their mum and uncle are still here safe with us.

Two years ago this is what I wrote on Facebook :
“Missing two black and white cats, in our house, somewhere under or behind the furniture….hopefully they will emerge when they get hungry. Hubby has been looking for them half the night. I keep telling him that will just scare them more…. I don’t know whether to get one of those plug in things that gives off a calming scent for cats?”
The photo is of the female who I hadn’t got to know as they had only been here for two days. At the time I didn’t know she was pregnant with four kittens (who we successfully rehomed). She is now very happy living here with her brother. They don’t hide, they like us now. I did get some of that stuff that calms cats down and it worked.

These two boys were my female cats kittens, they were rehomed together and now they are about two and a half years old. I occasionally see photos of them, I do miss them. They are like larger versions of their mother. Both boys are really handsome. I wish I’d been able to keep them, and their two sisters that went to another home.

I just asked my hubby what he’s reading. Short stories he said, but it has kittens in it?!
Well that’s nice, it reminds me of books like ‘somewhere a cat is waiting’ by Derek Tangie (not sure if spelling). Also ‘the silent miaow’ and ‘jennie’ both by Paul Gallico I think. They are all old books so they might take a bit of searching for. That’s one of the things about having lots of books, they are not necessarily recently written.
I asked what he’s reading ‘the secrets of St Dee’ by Victoria Routledge. It sounds interesting and convoluted.
Kittens from two years ago, popped up on my FB memories. They were so cute, they went to good homes and we kept their mom and her brother who I had taken in as rescue cats.
Black and white cats are lovely but I would have other colours, it’s just that there seem to be a preponderance of them round here.
