She never usually sat on dad’s lap, but this time she did. Such a loving little tortoise shell cat. I didn’t know then that this sort of fur colouration is mainly female…. I may be wrong. We had another cat too but I dint remember him well, I left home a few years later, and I missed them so much.
Of course when I stayed in student accommodation we weren’t allowed pets, but a year later we took in an old straggly cat that someone was going to have put to sleep. And after that I’ve always had cats… 11 in total… My friends.
Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
45 years ago I bought myself a ladies mixtie frame 10 speed bike.
It cost £120 which was a lot of money then and as a student I had to pay monthly to get it. I think it took me 6 months.
But it got me through college and into the first jobs I had. It was my method of visiting family and friends. I must have ridden thousands of miles on it.
Bikes are a means of transport for all sorts of people. Who needs ebikes. Keep cycling.
Describe one positive change you have made in your life.
It was a drastic decision, but I don’t regret it. Each time I thought I knew my job inside out the management changed things. In that sort of situation you could be doing the right thing one day and the wrong the next. That’s the problem with hierarchy, the top decides and the bottom has to implement rules even if they don’t make sense. And each time the goalposts move it’s not likely to be in your favour.
So I found myself out of work, but not regretting it. I had enough money to live on for a while so I set myself up as an artist. Of course I had grand ideas of sales and building a clientele, but at that stage I really didn’t know that my health would not be good. With that and the pandemic (no I haven’t had covid as yet) I found I really didn’t have a business. But I don’t care, I’m away from the humdrum, I’m not being made miserable by rules I don’t like and don’t want to follow. I have had more freedom to be myself than I ever had during the rest of my life. I guess I’m what they call semi retired. A hobbyist? I’d rather paint than do anything else.
Would I reverse the change? Never. I’ve only been back and seen my colleagues a couple of times. The past is the past, let it be!
My friend just told me she has covid and a few other friends have had it recently. Then someone else posted this graph on Facebook. There is a definite uptick on the right of the graph. It’s not clear how it will progress and given the lack of publication of the stats on TV anymore its not surprising that people are possibly getting a little complacent about it. Yes most people are vaccinated, but it doesn’t mean you will be totally immune. I just hope that people can get over it quickly. I for one keep buying and wearing masks.
My phone is doing strange things, especially when I’ve tried to upload images to my Facebook page today. I decided to optimise some of my photos because my phone memory is too full. Usually the images that I have shrunk stay on the phone and the others are deleted. But thus time everything doubled up. I tried deleting the old ones, but I had to restart the phone and my images seemed to get mixed up. I tried finding them and although I did the gallery kept reverting to the older ones. I guess I need to buy a new memory card? I don’t know if I can sort it out otherwise.
The boat is probably about 90 years old? The painting of my hubby is about forty years old. You know you are getting on when things you own start to age with you!
Time passes, faster it seems as you get older. Ten years just flew by. I have so much stuff that I have collected over the years. I wish it was displayed beautifully… But its not.
What is happening here? My stats pages have changed. Perhaps they have tried to simplify them but now you are directly sent to the insights page and then you can choose whether you see stats for days, weeks, months and years. But it’s not the same. The bar charts look different and I’m not sure how they relate to the old ones.
I wish I knew where we get information from to tell us what is happening Is there a page which you can look at to tell you what is coming up at WordPress?
It seems to happen everywhere. Facebook is constantly tweaked as is Instagram. You just have to try and pick up what is going on. I don’t think things should stay the same but it would be handy to have some information before hand.
