Mini paintings, abstract and flowery. When you’re not sure what to paint but you need to paint some work for our art groups little summer fayre.
Canvases this small cost £2.20 for two. So if I’m selling them and I’ve got to give 50% to the art group then I’d like to make 50 pence profit because the people coming don’t have much money. I’m glad I could get the canvases though about 1.5 inches by 2 inches. I love the challenge.
Sharing the settee, two cats, relaxed and sleeping. They do tend to hang up on their sister though. So she sleeps upstairs and these two snuggle down on the crocheted blanket.
The big cat has started snoring. The middle one sleeps quietly. The third,, small one, hopped up the stairs a few minutes ago. The house is settling down for the night.
No sooner had the big cat got out of the box then the small cat got in! Middle cat slept in it last night, I didn’t think to take a photo of him in the darkness.
Cats and boxes are such a good fit! No pun intended. I think they like them to keep away draughts!
Oops, now it’s empty, the cat got bored! With boxes “one size fits all cats”.
I was just wondering how big the UK is relative to the USA. Turns out according to Google it’s 40 times smaller than the USA! (also 32 times smaller than Australia).
We can drive across the country in a day. I could drive for maybe two or three days North to South John O’groats to Lands end, although it has been done much faster. The direct distance is 603 miles, but the road distance is 837 miles. So driving over the limit at 83.7 mph you could drive it in ten hours. But if you drove at just 40mph you could do it in less than 24 hours!
Goodness knows how long it would take to drive across America and I guess it also depends where on the coasts you drive from. America is wider in the north than in the south?
My ideal home is very similar to what I live in, but it would be slightly bigger with an ensuite bathroom. It doesn’t have to be detached, or modern. Maybe a Victorian terrace with minton tiles in the hallway and a skylight to let in more light into the kitchen at the back. It would have a long back garden with mature fruit trees.
One thing I would do is buy better furniture. Most of mine is old and some of it is broken. I can’t afford to replace it, so I would love to win some money, I can’t imagine how else I could manage it. I would also completely rearrange my belongings and dejunk.
One thing I would not do is buy a charity ticket to win a ‘million pound house’, I think the chances of winning are very slim and if I did win it would be a waste because I don’t need the space. I couldn’t afford to run it, nor pay the council tax or the power supply. I would have to sell it off. I also would hate to leave family and friends to go somewhere miles from where I live now
This arrived today! It’s almost the length and width of our settee. My hubbys brother has sent it in the post. Why? It’s meant to be a pond yatch. But our pond is smaller than the box!
I don’t need more stuff in the house. I don’t know how much wrapping is inside the box, I just told my hubby I’ve now got something to put him in when he has passed away.
Hubby and brother used to make toy boats as children, they had a small lake near their childhood home where they built ships and then reinacted naval battles and set fire to the ships (I don’t have to say what I want to do with it do I?)
Oh well, another start to another weird day. Household peace may resume. But I’m not sure when! I just wish he’d open the box, but he seems happy just to look at it!
A small turquoise and blue painting of two owls I painted a few years ago. I want to do a few more like this, semi realistic but with a bit of quirkiness.
I’ve got a small craft table in June and I need to restock my paintings. I’ll post about the craft fair soon.
I’m asking for suggestions for small paintings, ideas for new pictures? These will be matchbox sized or slightly bigger. I need to do some paintings of bees on flowers. I painted giraffes against sunsets. I might add some metallic paint again.
I just want to get going. But I’m a bit blocked mentally at the moment. I look at me easle and think, tomorrow? But that begins tomorrow again…. Life is strange.
I wanted to buy some new slippers today but they only came in small medium or large in our local supermarket. We’ll that was strange. Feet come in lots of sizes and not averages. I had socks and shoes on which I didn’t want to take off but I remembered something from reading art books. Your forearm is the same length as your foot! The medium ones were the closest in length to my forearm and seemed to match the length of my shoes so I bought some. On wearing them they are a smidgen too small, but if I had bought the large ones they would have been like boats! Supermarkets? Not good to just sell three sizes!
