Rainbow garden

My hubby shouted to tell me he had made a rainbow today. The hose was spraying water and the sunlight was behind us and bright.

In one of the photos there is even a double rainbow.

Rainbow

Coloured with light,

shining with sparkles,

water in flight.

Rainbow

glittering brightly,

wonderful vision

droplets so spritely.

Rainbow

water drops glisten

spectrum of sound

making you listen.

Rainbow

to see your smiling bow

happy to watch

your coloured sparks flow.

Colours

An explosion of colour makes me feel joyous, excited, satisfied, sainted with brilliance. I would love to turn this into a tee shirt, a throw for a sofa or a bed. It’s a bit bright for a painting on a wall.

This was a quick drawing in ArtRage oils, then I used a rainbow flood fill in the gaps and then a smudge tool. Finally I used the layout app to duplicate and rotate the drawing.

I know they are only simple tools but you can create some interesting things with them.

Rainbow cat

Cat out in the rain, dripping wet, Shivering, sad. Waiting to get in that house I visited. Are you safe and warm now. Did your owners come back or let you in? I would have taken you myself, blacks whites browns and oranges. If you were mine you would be snug and safe.

At least the rain stopped and the sun came out. Then, miracle, you sat in a pool of sunlight, rainbow hued, content with warmth.

Now wash yourself dry, find a quiet place and lie down and wait for them.

Sunshine and showers.

We have low pressure and winds from the north west are sweeping across the country. With the low sun earlier on  there were huge dark clouds, laden with rain, waiting to drop onto already sodden ground. Peeking underneath the clouds a bright sun burst through and shone across the road.  It turned the cloud base orange, but I could not see a rainbow, perhaps it was behind the buildings.

I took these photos.  The tree across the road is in flower although its only December. It usually flowers in March.

Looking round the garden, we still have blue Lobelia flowers, also begonias, a fuchsia, a nasturtium.. these should be gone by now but it has been mild , too mild. ….

Talking about rainbows.  Years ago I stepped out if college and onto the street. There was a sprinkling of rain, and dark clouds. The sun was low and bright. I saw a beautiful rainbow only a few yards in front of me. It was actually touching the ground. I did that thing you do in dreams, I chased it! I kept chasing and it kept moving away. In the end, after about 100 yards, I gave up. I just stood and marvelled at the beauty of it until it faded……

Angel

Sometimes I can be a bit soft hearted, soppy, I can’t think of the word to explain it. As I was drawing in Artrage oils this little drawing popped out of the screen do I decided to try and write a poem.

Sorry if its not hard hitting or current …maybe its a bit too like a hymn…

Angel flying so high,

You touch the sky…

Angel give me peace,

Sleep as release..

Angel sing sweet songs of love,

Give us comfort from above,

Angel glowing rainbow bright,

You are such a mystic sight.

Angel share with us your grace ,

Show the beauty of your face.

Angel please  do hear my prayer.

Keep me safe and free from fear.
