She purrs
She sleeps
She loafs.
Upon my bed
In the warm.
No space for me
My feet
My hands
My body
My head
Overcome by a cat!

She purrs
She sleeps
She loafs.
Upon my bed
In the warm.
No space for me
My feet
My hands
My body
My head
Overcome by a cat!

He greets me sometimes
with purrs
Mornings in the sun
Have a wash
Finding that comfy space
But sometimes?
He sleeps on a stair tread
Curled up happily
Danger to footsteps
I can avoid
But he’s too cute
To criticise!

Cat paw on my hand, he likes saying hello. Hello in the morning, when he comes up to me, assumes the “staring” position and waits to be fed! Then sometimes he will reach out with his paw to greet me. My other two don’t do that. One sharpens her claws on my leg, pulling holes in my leggings, the third likes to head butt my hand in greeting. Sweet.

He purrs, he sits, cheek rubs my hand.
Paws outstretched.
Then one paw reaches out to me.
A greeting, saying are you OK?
Cats know when you need love
They express feelings, you can see it.
Little nudges of his nose against my hand.
He will sit on my knee soon.
Looking after me.

Belly rub? Yes please, I tickle his tum. He purrs. Friends with each other, he is content to lie on his back. No sharp claws, quiet paws. Ten minutes, twenty… Then up he gets and toddles off to his food bowl. Next out into the night, the wind is blowing and the stars aren’t bright, in fact it’s blowing a hooley out there… But he’s happy and replete, out on his nightly patrol, come rain or shine….

Reflected pink stains my cat
He’s happy to sit and purr
He poddles his paws and stirs
The cover. Pink throw
And green throw,
And purple cushion.
He sits and fits
well in the space
But soon he’s gone
Off on a mission
Nuzzling bees
Climbing trees
He’s a big cat
Not fat
Just jolly…

He came in to sleep
Curled up, paw over nose
Relaxed, snoring
Sweet curves and purrs
Paws stretch,
Twitch and flick
Ears turning fast
What does he see?
In his rushing dream..
A do not disturb sign
Needed to let him sleep

When he’s properly asleep his paws twitch, so do his whiskers, and he snores.
It’s a regular rasping noise, and it’s not loud, but I can hear it. It’s good that he’s deeply asleep, dreaming of chasing things. Leaping up on fences and shed roofs. Paws twitch as he runs through the garden in his sleep. Sometimes a purr escapes instead of the snore. He was homeless for a while but he has come into our hearts. For a long time he was the ‘outdoor cat’, but no more. Fully integrated and full of snores and warmth.

Tickle his tummy! The cat is relaxed and happy. He wants a belly rub. Tail twitching slightly, but claws sheathed, he’s purring, eyes closed, content.
You know your cat is happy and relaxed when it does this!

He’s having a good stretch. I just have to say hup and he reaches up with his paws and rubs my hand with his head. My other cats are really loving too, but he is most friendly. But boy, if he catches you with his claws they come sharp!
Fur, whiskers and claws. Cats are wonderful creatures.
