#favourite

detail of a favourite painting. I did this forty years after painting the original. I can’t find the full photo. The hashtag #favourite was in a Facebook group I’m in. I loved the town landscape. I was living in a flat opposite a steep hill so I could see down into back gardens and see people gardening and putting washing out, also the architectural structure of the rooves. I was just starting my fine art course and thus took six weeks painting every day in situ. I remember being told off for taking so long over it, so I learnt to paint faster!

Waiting for rain

Tonights sunset. We walked up our steep hill then took a slightly longer route home. At the bottom of the road back to home I saw this sunset and cloudy sky lightening the sky that had been dark and moody all evening.

I’m looking for faces in the clouds but all I can see a profile of a mouse with large ears, it has its front paws lifted up and large wings on its back. I used to think I had no imagination…

Late summer sky

Lowering grey clouds above the Croft at Penkhull. We walked around this afternoon exploring the area again. We had climbed up the steep hill and down another steep one on the way back at the end of the walk. The hill we descended has been recently resurfaced. The tarmac was well laid, but the hill is so steep I felt like I was going to slip and fall as the surface was not textured. As we walked down my legs started to shake as I took my weight on my shins. We had only walked for an hour and a half but we called in a shop and had to carry everything down the hill in a rucksack. And am I the only person that washes their shopping when they get it home? Now I’m sitting and relaxing, I need a rest.

Where have I been?

I actually walked a reasonable distance today, about two miles up a steep hill, down a steep hill and along the main road. On the way I walked past this triffid growing out over the pavement.

I have not been out for a walk since March!

Well I got dragged out by a friend that walks miles every day. It made me realise I can do it. I just need to make the effort. But for now my knees and ankles ache. And I fell asleep when I got in. But it was worth the effort.
