Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was soft. I decided to draw a mad soft tortoiseshell cat. It’s just imagined so it might be a bit deformed in shape! Felt pens again..

New paintings and regular art updates.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was trading. I was thinking about all the crops that get sent around the world that don’t really pay the growers a fair price. Many people in the world only earn a few pounds a day, not enough to live well, not enough to pay for education or health services. I wish more people bought fair trade crops, but I guess as the cost of living crisis becomes worse the people at the bottom of the ladder will get treated worse. X

Well I decided to play with this. I could have chosen a photo, but this turned out a bit like a multi coloured jelly! Two versions, one digitally manipulated. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Rocky.

Swallow falls, out in the wilds of mid Wales, on the way to Snowdonia near Beddgelert. Its a beautiful place. I’ve only visited it once about twenty years ago. This drawing was based on an Internet search as waterfalls was the prompt for #bandofsketchers on Tuesday.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was memory. I don’t have a photo of this but it’s stuck in my mind. There was a rock wall and maybe a tree growing up from it, or growing nearby. That is what I see in my minds eye. The tree trunk was very gnarled and each time I walked past I saw a gnarly face.
This is from when I was a child. There was also an avenue of similar trees behind it. But I can’t remember how they were placed. Then there were park railings and houses beyond. Its funny what sticks in the memory. X

Today for #bandofsketchers we had to draw something ‘Awesome’. One thing I’ve always wanted to do is see the Aurora Borealis, northern lights. The electrons in the solar wind get trapped by Earth’s magnetic fields and get drawn to the north and south poles. There they are drawn down and they interact with the magnetic fields and great auroral lights illuminating the sky. The Southern lights are called the Aurora Australis.

At the Thai temple at King’s Bromley a couple of weeks ago. I thought this would be a good image to represent Asia. Thursdays #bandofsketchers prompt was Asia. Felt pen drawing.

Felt pen drawing of my Mother taken from a painting I did of her several years ago. She passed away after I did the portrait. This was for todays prompt, Mother, as it is Mothering Sunday in the UK. The felt pen colours were a bit dark so I’ve adjusted it a bit. #bandofsketchers

Laughter is watching my cat chasing the belt to my dressing gown. One side has lost its belt loop so it drags along the floor and…Pounce! So funny watching her bounce around! Todays #bandofsketchers prompt. Black fine line pen and felt pens.

Today’s prompt for Esther Chiltons limerick challenge is Bread this week. I wrote this poem to be humorous and although I hate marmite I wouldn’t try and stop anyone else eating it.
Limericks have two rhyming lines at the start, then two lines with a different rhyme and then one single, final line, that rhymes with the first two.
Maybe it’s time to get your pen out…?
Play with the words, it’s fun, no doubt!
Rhyme and couplet
Words you can bet
You can be a real limerick lout!
